I know the basics, like rank and enchants lowers weight, Weight Endurance ftw, yada yada. But, I'm still a bit unclear.
1. Yellow section? Whats that about?
2. What are the penalties of wearing too much stuff?

1. Yellow is a warning, nothing more.
2. Decreased running speed, slower stamina regen, and longer time on the ground.
AGI reduces the slower stamina regen when above your weight limit.
Standing Endurance lowers time on the ground when over your limit.

Hi all, dragging up an older topic but I have a question about Standing Endurance.
I'm running a staff Evie, and noticed in the Evie Staff guide that this skill isn't even mentioned, so I've been ignoring it. What made me curious about it is this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcwLqDbCcgg
This Evie is wearing light armor. Is that to take advantage of Standing Endurance? I notice in the skill description that the decreased knock down is for when "carrying more than your max weight". Do you have to overload a staff Evie to take advantage of this skill? Wouldn't that reduce running speed and stamina regen? The Evie in that video doesn't seem to be slowed down at all.

Welcome to Mabination :O
She probably has weight endurance as well as some light armor mastery, which gives her more maximum carrying weight. Standing Endurance helps you get up faster if you are in the red zone of your weight(Over the max you can carry). It also has a special effect at r9 but she is wearing light armor due to the two skills I listed earlier. I would assume anyways.

*coughs* Are you talking about the Staff Guide in the Mabination section? If so, the reason it wasn't mentioned is because it's a preference skill, not really a "staffy" skill. The only boss I've run into that you might need it at is the Red Tyrant. I'll go fix up the translated version to put that in later on today.
Also - that Staffy isn't wearing Light armor, she's wearing the Cloth version of the Red Tyrant. The skill Standing Endurance doesn't require you to wear Light or Heavy, you can use it with Cloth too. What you do is get it to rank 9 and then press/spam spacebar to get up faster. And no :) you don't have to overload a Staffy to take advantage of the skill.
Edit* O_o he might be wearing Light Armor.. Though, I really think that's just the cloth version of it. Mine looked the same as his (only dyed a bit prettier).

Putting yourself in the "red zone" to take advantage of Standing Endurance is actually hindering you. Standing Endurance just lowers the penalty, but there's still a penalty. That aside, Evies that spend their AP a certain way can wear Light or Heavy armors without being in the red zone, which is probably what that evie did.
Even without that, Standing Endurance has a few effects:
1) Helps prevent you from falling prone when getting hit, allowing you to escape a combo ideally.
2) At Rank 9 and up allows you to quick roll when you do fall prone, allowing you to sort of escape a combo. Sometimes this will get you killed.
Having Standing Endurance r9 is very practical for fighting Red Tyrant, so you're probably thinking of that quick roll, Dukhan.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I was. Which I happen to think is one of the best gaming guides I've ever read. Informative and entertaining. Good job on that.

I understand that. I was just surprised by that video and his praise of Standing Endurance for staff.

Hmmm... I thought it was the
War Edge Battle Set. There are no pictures in the wiki for the Lighter Red Tyrant Set.
The skill Standing Endurance doesn't require you to wear Light or Heavy... And no :) you don't have to overload a Staffy to take advantage of the skill.
So, is that saying that the description is wrong... about the "carrying more than your max weight"?

When you get Standing Endurance to r9, you'll notice they add another line to the description:
"Allows you to roll immediately after being knocked down."
You do have to overburden yourself to take advantage of "
Decreases the amount of time you are knocked down" in the earlier ranks, as being overburdened has a penalty that adds to the time you are knocked down. It's just lessening the penalty and no one ranks Standing Endurance for that aspect of the skill, since practically no one will overburden themselves due to the loss in stamina recovery.

Ahhh, no. That isn't the War Edge Battle Set. :) It is the Lighter Red Tyrant set (I found a pic
here). I'd have shown you mine, but I kind of sold it as soon as I could. lol.

I see. Then I'll consider ranking it after I take care of the "necessities." That extra description explains a lot. Thanks.

Cool. Thanks. I like that set. Level 33 now, guess I better start saving for it. I'm a hopeless armor collector. Still have the Witch set that I occasionally switch to when going back to the Ruins. ;-)

No. The thing with weight is, when you're in the red, it takes longer to get up. Standing Endurance reduces that penalty for when you're overburdened, but you'll still be slower than if you were in yellow/white.

The first effect of standing endurance is in effect no matter what you're wearing.
