I was looking at Sooni's guide and it talked about making a spider farm
well i tried and it worked for a minute or so
but after that, the spiders i had trapped behind the tree started... just... vanishing O_O
like i'd be looking at them, then. -blink- gone.
is that supposed to happen? D:
cuz it took me a while to get those guys stuck there T_T

Mmm,did you happen to walk away at all from your farm? I think if you're not close to both the actual current location of the spiders (IE, behind the tree) and the area where they originally spawn (their spawn zone, so to say) then they might start disappearing.

Put a mule or a pet with shop near the trees to watch the spiders.

The spawn resets if there is nobody or no pets in the area.
I remember writing that down on my guide:

It's just that if anyone else wants webs on that channel, they're outa luck. It really is all webs for me, none for you.

Good old spider farming. I remember those days before rank 1 weaving. But, since I'm back I feel sorry for those spider farms that always get destroyed. Viva la spider farms!!

Val you're back to mabi? and also i would spider farm for weaving if i had enough space to even store a ton of cobwebs
-
Valix wrote on 2010-05-01 18:53
Yea, I'm back. What I usually did with the cobwebs was store them all on my 11+ pets all the cobwebs, then made them into what I needed whether it be thin or thick threads at the time and rinse and repeat the long boring process.

I gave up on farming spiders because of this. Now I just run around collecting them.

Actually, lately, I have seen field mobs simply vanish, sometimes as I am killing them. I first noticed it as I was killing Desert Bears on a 2x XP pot. Their numbers grew for a while to where it was nice and easy to run from one to another. Then, as I was killing one it vanished, along with about 75% of them. Just up and despawned. Only field mobs, it has not happened in dungeons yet.

This is why I gave up on making farms. Now I just have an *** script to pick up webs while I read a book. :P
Though I do sometimes like doing it manually. It's like a Mabi version of the
Traveling Salesman problem. as I try to get the most webs in the least time.
