I'm curious about the best rebirthing route for pets. Lets say I would like to make the ultimate pet and i don't care about the number of different pets i need to get. What should I do?

Rebirth in a way that the end result (Thoroughbred usually) have highest combat and magic skills available.
Any pet with bolt -> rebirth to Thoroughbred, and mass level it.

Starting with a tofu bear = r6 heal + r6 lb + r6 crit.
Don't feed it.
Most other combat pets get the rest of the combat skills to r6 by level 30 or so.
Sprites get other magic pretty quickly.

tofu bear with R6 combat skills >>> sprite or any pet for magic skills R6 >>>> imp (when it comes out) for magic shields R6>>> any pet you want or wait for those thunder spaniel dog pets or griffin.

.-. easier to level a minibear than to feed a tofubear for combat skills. And you lose out on high lb and healing.

^and (for me) healing is a must for an ultimate pet. That's why my red panda Ringtail is still skinny

I don't bother with pet healing because I lag a lot sometimes.
I have two 200 tofu bears and they tank rooms with their massive 400+ hp.
Minibear has a lot of hp but not as much as these bears.
However, I don't recommend tofu bears for people who can't handle tofu making, so I say minibears are fine for beginners.
As for pet rebirth path, lvl 10 jindo -> tofu bear -> whatever pet you desire.
I screwed up on the lvl 10 part a while ago, wanted to make a firebolting tofu bear.

others may find feeding tofu easier, if you can afford it like i do but either way they are both good.

which is why you rebirth the tofu bear to a sprite or any pets with easy to get R6 magic skills

Haha. Sorry, personally I don't think it's easy to get a sprite to level 59 just for max healing.
It's much easier to keep the skills that come with a lv1 tofu bear, and just level a minibear up to 28.

lvl one tofu bear has poor combat skills (besides crit)
also please read what the thread started asked. he didnt say a pet but a "rebirthing route for pets... to make the ultimate pet " and i just gave some suggestions. i dont see how having a lvl 1 tofu bear or a mini bear (no rebirths) would lead to the "ultimate pet" the thread started asked for.

I read the thread. Ultimate pet = max skills. A tofu bear will never have maxed skills.
And yeah, I think you've been reading my posts wrong. I've been advocating rebirths the whole time.
Tofu bear w/ no food, rebirth into mini-bear and level it to 28 = pet will all r6 combat skills + r6heal&lb.
Then, rb into a magic pet for the rest of the bolts and level according, and finally rb into the pet you plan to keep.

@ Thread starter
When you do manage to rebirth the pets to whatever path you take, take in mind that once imps are available as pets if you want you can rebirth it to an imp and get R6 on all the magic skills which adds more mp to your pet's mana pool. then rebirth it to whatever pet you like, that is if you can afford it all.
the path i am thinking of doing is tofu bear with R6 combat >>> sprite R6 magic skills>>>imp R6 magic shield skills (when it comes out)>>> Thunder spaniel dogs as my final pet which would have high mana pool and use it for thunder on rare situations. or perhaps a griffin as a final pet and roar!
in the end the pet would have all available skills capped and a high mana pool along with attributes and hp.
