Just some plans for the holiday season.
New server
Either December 1st or 2nd, Nation will be moving to a new server. The new server is configured with better hardware (it's cloud based rather than a single machine so the hardware is excellent quality), the webserver software is also much better, I'm testing vbulletin on it right now and pages load near instantly for threads with 10 posts each page of 10,000 characters.
The move itself shouldn't take long, but again like the previous server move, depending on your ISP or choice of DNS servers, you might not be able to access Nation for anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. I've configured the DNS in such a way that should minimize this though, but there's no way to tell for sure.
The new server is about 50$ per month cheaper than the previous one, so unless Nation grows enough to need that extra 50$ again I won't need any kind of donations of fund raising to keep the site up.
New layout and website upgrades
Later in December I hope to have the free time to finish the new layout. It's going to include some options like deciding sig sizes that you want to see, and other visual or convenient features. It's also going to be vindictus friendly, with banner characters alternating randomly with mabi or vindictus characters. The forum itself will also be upgraded to the latest version, the shop software will also be upgraded and new pets will be added while some of the old ones will retire.
Wiki
The wiki isn't decided yet. Based on your opinions in the wiki thread most are for a vindictus and mabi2 wiki but don't care for mabi1 wiki. If I put a wiki it will have a portal for each game either way for the sake of completeness, so I'm still thinking about if it's worth the time or not. If we do get a wiki it will be at the same time as the update of the layout.
It's over 9,000,000!
Page views. 9,030,468 page views for Nation as of right now. almost 1,000,000 visitors and growing quite fast (for november so far there's been 260k visitors, with 214k for october, 170k for september). Our community size is growing ridiculously fast.
