Vindictus feels like a single player game with a messenger to chat with a bunch of people if you are in a guild. Joining random parties have tons of lag except for a select few, while hosting own games gives way too much lag for the other players for them to move much.

overall i'm happy with most of the players. most of them are willing to do the side missions and almost no mic-spammers. i also don't come across a lot of rooms with extreme lag, so it's been good.

The lag in parties is a bit discouraging, so I rarely do party runs. However, I haven't come across any losers outside of the first 4 missions in Boat 1 or so.

In-game community is nice. I'd say around 1/8th of players are assholes, which is lower than lots of games. I refuse to join a guild, so I've built up a nice friends list of great players, works well.
Also, I really don't lag much at all, except for specific times, such as when the 2x EXP event is going on.

The community in my opinion is to quiet. It's a 50 50 chance that i join a boat where the host will even say a word to me. When i ask for people to help kick some spiders dead, or spear a wisp, most of them listen but there is always one person who doesnt seem to listen. Its probably because they are on different channels or simply dont wanna pay attention to what people say. In general the community is great, i try my best to support newer players, trying to point out that you cant block the knoll chieftons attacks, or that chains are not for the face they are for the legs.
unless there is an update i try not to join parties because of the dreadful lag, but when i do they are generally nice if i get stuck due to lag or something.

I've only met one annoying/mean person in my whole time playing Vindi, mostly because I only solo/duo with buddy list. Overall I'd say people are really nice though, since I can go into a party and start a conversation with the leader about the most random thing while waiting for another member to drop in.
Guild is really quiet though, so that's annoying for me ; ;

Actually I definitely agree with that. The community is way too quiet. I've always played games like Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2, and those games are so fun to drink and play late at night. I always have laughs with the people on those games. People reacting to good shots, encouraging team work, etc. But Vindictus... there's like no interaction. I'll talk on my mic, and like 1 out of 10 boats will actually have someone else that has a mic. Normally I get the response "I have mic muted but I see that you're talking". It gets annoying. Even when I type out things, I'll regularly get someone that doesn't respond.
Really why are people so scared of the mic in this game? I'm assuming thats due to the MMO crowd, which is used to just typing everything? I don't care if you're a 10 year old, talk to me!

I have the entire option for mic muted on any and all pugs because of the people who like to mic spam music. ;) And most of the time it's muted when I run with friends, because I like my music. No mic for me, though, because I tripped and fell over the wires of mine. D: And it broke, again.

I've partied with two people that used a mic. One of them pretty much said what he would have said if he were typing. It was quite useful, but he died a lot... The other one had a mic simply because he liked to have other people hear his voice. He would assume we were all noobs even though most of us were a higher level than him and say stupid things like "the kobolds will break the bridge" in Hoarfrost Hollow when we were in a bq that wasn't even the first one with a flipping bridge. He annoyed me and I muted the game. My brother has a mic that I could borrow, but I just don't think it's worth it when one of the only two people I've met with mics I wouldn't want to talk to anyway. And it's not even that I don't party a lot, I'm in a party for everything.
I agree that people are too quite a lot, but I've also met some pretty cool people. I'm always on a certain channel that happens to be a guild channel and everyone from that guild talks to me when they see me. It's nice. I'm like a minicelebrity. But it's also kinda weird 'cause they lick me 'cause I think they're partially roleplaying wolves...
Also, semiontopic, wth does "pug" mean?

Ah, forgot I also turned off voice chat just cause I don't want to hear other people speaking while playing due to music or whatever.
Anyways, PUG stands for PickUp Group: Basically means a group that is formed by random people you don't know.

On the Mic thing, I always have a headset plugged into my computer because imo everything sounds so much better with a good pair of headphones. The mic is just a nice bonus, and since I used to roll with a more elitist crowd in certain other games, voice was kind of required. In Vindictus, I typically don't say something in voice in most groups, I type stuff out. However, if someone talks on voice on the occasional chance, I'll gladly respond. One time I joined a random Decisive Battle full of people who were appropriate for that dungeon, (I enjoy helping low levels most of the time) and they were all trying to figure out how to get mics working and stuff. One of em managed to get it working, and so I responded in voice. While the other person barely made much of a peep, since I was talking, I may as well kept talking, and many laughs were had as I jokingly commented on the Red Tyrants exploits involving his hammer and the poor lowby's faces. ^^
On the actual topic, well, in all honesty as I was working my way through Ainle content, I was questioning whether a community of this game even existed at all, that is until I found this website through the Nexon forums and joined a guild. (Since then, I never dared to look back on the Nexon forums.)

So far the community is quite nice. I rarely join parties, mainly because everything is soloed pretty easily so far. When I do join for speed runs or other annoying oaths, people are usually friendly.
My take on the official forums is that it's beyond hope. Even the urge to say something nice or to be helpful dies quickly in the most helpful person due to the crappy forum software they use. Only the ones that truly want to troll stay there, the rest go to fansites forums :p Bad representation of the game community, really.

I party when I feel lazy so that I don't have to think. Being able to attack something while it's attacking someone else=win. I don't think I've met anyone rude yet. It is annoying when you end up with those people who expect everyone else to do everything, like in Tyrant runs. I don't usually talk to anyone unless they say something first, though, so maybe that's why I think everyone's nice.

The community is the same as any other community for any game.
There are trollers, noobs, retards, elitists, nice people, perverts, people who like to brag or whatever for ePenis size, laggers, cheaters, ragers, spammers, sex chat people, people who lie about gender for gf bf bs relationships, etc. They're all in here.
