I got R9 Standing Endurance on Evie. I need to know how exactly to get the instant-roll. I've seen tons of different opinions all over the place, so I need a definite answer.
I've tried different things, but don't understand why sometimes I roll instantly, and sometimes I don't.
I've tried doing it with directional keys, I've tried doing it without directional keys. I've tried spamming it, I've tried hitting it just once. I always make sure that my stamina is nearly full.
I understand everything I need to know in this game, EXCEPT FOR THIS ROLL! Please help me!
Side question: What exactly is the timing for the bonus HP recovery for potions? Should I let go right as the "gulp" sound happens? I rarely use potions so I simply haven't tested much yet, I'm sure I'll figure this one out on my own if I don't find the answer.

Not sure about the hp pot, I am still trying to figure that out myself. As for the roll, I can't really recall, but if you don't have lag, you should be able to roll out easily as soon as you see your character flat on the ground. (Have to be as soon as you're flat on the ground, one second after you won't be able to roll out)

Press the dodge button as soon as you fall to roll away instantly.
You have to have a decent amount of stamina for it.
Sometimes it'd fail if you lag too much
IIRC, you need the HP Potion Mastery skill for the timing.
After you get that skill, there'd be a red flash while you're drinking.
At rF, it's only 0.17s though...

Hit Space the moment your body fully reaches the ground and you'll roll right back up.
Usually if you spam the space key a billion times while you're falling it works too.

About the Bonus HP recovery thing, I don't have HP Potion proficiency thingy but you can still get the bonus when timed right. I let go of the potion key right when my character gulps or when it reaches the lips, though I never really pay attention to how much HP recovered in comparison to the normal one or the timing.

OK cool, thanks a lot guys. I'll try this out.
Yeah I have the HP Potion Proficiency. I'm just trying to see if I can get the bonus consistently timed right before I rank it up at all. Still, itd be one of the last skills that I rank most likely.
I love timing rewards in games, haha. Too bad laggy players would have so much more trouble taking advantage of them though.

Some more elaboration.
If you are hit and sent directly backwards:
You will land on your back.
You will roll away from the original hit.
If you are hit from the side:
You will roll sideways onto your belly.
You will roll perpendicular/diagonal from the attack.
If you are hit from the back, sent forward:
You will fly forward onto your belly.
You will roll away from the attack.
Generally
Belly Down = You move where you are facing
Back Down = You move away from where you are facing.

Learn to tech. :D Gotta tech that sh*t or else you'll just get comboed to death.
But seriously just do one of the following. Time the dodge button when she falls or just spam it. Though you should just spam it as it's just more efficient.

Yeah I get it every single time now that I know you just have to hit it the instant you go down. Still haven't gotten the HP Potion bonus yet though.

For HP potion proficiency, my timing of it is right when your arm reaches about chest level after drinking. Another way to help figure out the timing is by launching a boat and holding the hotkey to continuously drink your potions, and watch for when the drinking ends and starts again.

I can't believe I didn't think to practice that one on boats. Thanks for the tip!
