Well Guru has a very awkward layout to me, which caused me to be a lurker. My account on guru never remembers my password, and it seemed like finding where the threads where at was very difficult to me :D. Also the, click the quick reply button, thing was annoying.

^Same here, but I have less posts atm :P. It helps joining early-- you feel more included than Guru where people already know each other
