Ahh I was just mostly sad with Best RPG, I would of much rather final fantasy over mass effect 2. Don't get me wrong, mass effect 2 was a great game, I just much enjoyed FF13 over it. I also didn't like the choice of character of the year. I think Kratos deserved that one more.

I would agree with best PC game, I don't play the Wii so I had no clue on those games.

another look
this list is strange
Red Dead Redemption won game of the year
but it did not win any of the console awards
It also won best original score and best song
but not best soundtrack
losing to a crappy music game

As much as I heard Red Dead Redemption was good, I didn't really like it, don't think it deserved as many awards as it got, God of War 3 would of been a much better game of the year.

Mass Effect 2 was almost universally better rated than FF13. You also need to factor in that the VGAs are set in the west where Bioware has much more of an impact compared to how it is in Japan. Also, the VGAs aren't the most legitimate awards ever. They basically only nominated stuff from the games AC:B, RDR, ME2, Halo Reach, CoD Blops and GoW 3. All of those are definitely great games but there are many other games that should have at least received nominations.
By the way, cat. I don't think RDR won any console awards because it was multi-console.

I played Mass Effect 2, and don't get me wrong, it is a good game but still I think FF13 was a much better game especially story wise. I also liked the game play more too.

That's because it was, specially story wise, and it's not the token FF7 so be happy about that, because FF7 wasn't all that great. Mass effect 2, like I said, it was ok at best.

I agree on RDR winning game of the year, the story gameplay and graphics were amazing...
One of the only games where I actually liked the characters and was actually shocked and moved by the ending.
The songs that queued up after certain missions, that strange feeling of joy when you finally got to ride back home to your family...
Exploring the wilds of the old west, Climbing the mesas in Mexico..The multiplayer that didn't feel tacked on, the stranger quests, and random events...
It truly was my game of the year, and the only VGA award that I fully agreed with, (Neil Patrick Harris winning voice actor of the year? wut?).
Also, FFXIII had a good story, but mass effect had better gameplay (In my opinion).

FF7 wasn't that great and neither was FF13. I won't discount the story, but the fact that FF13 wasn't a game for about 20 hours lost it some points with me and a lot of other people. And once you did get to the "game" part and could explore, the story started falling through a bit.
Mass Effect 2 on the other hand somehow improved on the few things I didn't like about ME1 and kept me engaged from start to finish. Couple that with the fact that replaying ME1 will change my play-throughs of ME2 and you just have something a bit more special than the occasional RPG.
I'm not going to argue most of this list, as everyone has their taste (most of the selection is pretty good, actually,) but DJ Hero 2's soundtrack was terribad. I love DJ Hero. I love mash-ups, as they take a nice chunk of my mp3 space.... but that setlist was not good at all in my opinion.
