For the love of all thats holy, rank all the main alchemy skills before the mastery's, unless you only use golem. its only a 10% improvement in damage.

I feel it's not so important to rank, what are your views? Since rank F, you can combine bolts, which is the purpose of the skill. Spending 250+ AP in a skill that would only boost damage by 15% isn't worth it considering there are other choices (opportunity cost). Also, keep in mind that the 15%+ damage doesn't compound with elemental masteries because the fused bolt has no element by itself. I am not sure if it works with Bolt Mastery, but if it does then it would mean something.

I believed it will combine the damages with bolt mastery, and two of the elemental magic masteries.
So if you have.. for example.. r1 Bolt Composer, r1 Bolt Mastery, r1 Ice Magic Mastery, and r1 Fire Mastery. Your fused version of fire and ice will do 60% more damages.
Now combine 60% with 999 ints, you would be able to do 110% more damages. Making your fused bolts do 2.1 more damages.
I have tested this out in KR Test server, the element masteries does add the damages. This is kinda like saying that if you rank up Ice mastery, your water cannon should 15% more damage because techinally it is an ice element-type.
That's exactly why though. You can probably do like 300+ dmg with Ice Lightning, and 15% means +45 per hit. 5 charges before starting something = +225, or 1725 per monster instead of 1500.
Take it as you will. I find this extra damage pretty useful. I'm not saying that it's a "need to rank" skill like say, Thunder or Blaze (on the contrary, this is one of those "When you have nothing in mind to rank" skills for many players). But then again, I wouldn't have the need to rank Sword Mastery rather than save the AP and effort for another skill.
I've read like in the next post and been told that, YES it does compound :/
