Well, 10 years ago, they would have gotten a physical punishment as well, but now-a-days, it's against the law to lay your hands on your kids in a disciplinary measure, since it's now child abuse, even though from personal experience, the kids who got hit when they got in trouble were better people than those who were spoilt and never gotten hit in their lives.
Even now, I know it's against the law, but I still get hit and don't call anyone. It's only if I deserve that me and my siblings would get hit, and I kinda like this principal. It does teach how to be more respectful and all. Btw, I'm asian :D.

If my parents hit me, I'd never listen.
Like,
never.
Hitting me would just be asking for me to do whatever thing I was doing wrong.
And I hold grudges for a long time.

That's why we must do it at an early age >:D, stop the rebellion.

Pika, you're lucky that all you got for a punishment was being locked up in your house. You did more harm to your brother's things than what he did to yours. Sure, it's funny, but would most parents punish the kid who's banging on the door of his little brother to get back at him, or the one that vandalized his older brother's stuff to retaliate for using a computer and then spitting on it when he got kicked off? Especially since you put something in his contact solution that would hurt him. Sure, from what you make your brother out to be, he's a bit psychotic, but non the less, you got lucky to only be "grounded".
Personally, if I was your parent, I would have taken your computer from you and made it the family computer until you learned your lesson to not to vandalize things.
Long ago I used to get whipped with a belt and whatever, but nowadays the worst I get is my connection cut because my parents are too damn lazy to actually take action and moving my computer downstairs. It's not that they're lazy, it's just that it's apparently very heavy and they over worry things.
Also he's done much worse things to me than what I did to him, like breaking my arm or that one time he was on my account and started trolling on guru.

My parents used to hit me when I was little, I still rebelled against it.
To me, physical discipline is not a effective form of discipline. It was like that even when I was 3.

Or just have only one kid, half the trouble.

Oh my. I couldn't imagine if me and my brothers didn't get along XD
If something goes wrong we just go "Kay whatever bye" and leave it at that.

LOL! You think my parents care (or any for that matter) about child abuse? My parents hit me, slammed my head into a door, tackled me to the ground and choked, threw me etc etc because I was bad and it was supposed to teach me a lesson (didn't work and obviously this was over years so.....). Omg cops gonna bust down my door now xD;;; They dont touch me now, just threaten to kick me out to the curb
My sister even threatened to call the cops for child abuse and leave the family but she was just talking crap.

Well I'm 18 almost 19, and my grandparents live 5 minutes away and they would only take me for a few days before kicking me out and I'm my grandma's favorite (/spoiled by her). And before we moved up here where I live now (I had an extremely huge problem with it and **** happened) I asked all my friends if I could stay with them and their parents all said no cause we would do "stuff" o_o

haha, I doubt it, everybody has their uses.
I wouldn't really trust an 18yr old and my son/daughter either. If that makes you feel any better.
