As we are now Earth wouldn't last 12 hours against the zerg.
Basic marine rifle shells only deal 6 damage when shot 4 times (according to sound). Those guns are huge and those bullets are huge.
Zerglings have 35 hp, meaning they'd need to take 24 shots from a magnetic accelerated gauss rifle to kill. We don't have many things that match up to something of that caliber as it is.
And these are the weakest zerg units.
We'd probably have tanks blasting away at Ultralisks for like an hour before it actually dies.
Not to mention there are literally billions of zerglings.
Damage in Starcraft is adjusted for balance, and it's not a very realistic depiction. Look at the Brood War trailer and how large a Battlecruiser is compared to the average Marine/Zergling. Are you telling me that a giant laser from a Battlecruiser wouldn't rip through one of them with one hit, instead of doing 20 damage?
On topic, I wouldn't go. I'd have a lot of expectations on my shoulders on my return to Earth, and I prefer to lead a normal life.

LOL I LIVE NEAR NEWARK NEW JERSEY
Anyway, I wouldn't dare abandon my lifestyle of carefree gaming and relaxation for something as time consuming as converging with aliens.

But we have thousands of nuclear warheads. The government will just nuke the city once it becomes infested.
Anyways, if you remember in those starcraft cinematics, mutalisk swarm the sky so much that it was completely dark.

I wouldn't. I'm a coward and have my reasons for wanting to stay on this planet, anyway.

Watch this and after tell me if you would still go. These beings are unknown entities with an unknown agenda. Our society has difficulties trusting each other, how could we possibly and honestly trust aliens?
lol i was going to post that if no one else did xD

It really depends on how they prevent themselves. But granted that I've no one to take care of back on Earth, I'd consider going. Regardless of what happens, it makes for a more interesting end than sitting behind a desk every day.

In the best case scenario (where the aliens are actually peaceful), no.
In the worse case scenario (where the aliens lie and perform experiments on you, never to be heard from again), no.
And if the Zerg comes, I'll call on the Koreans to help.

No. Too much of a hassle.

I sure wouldn't. I would be highly suspicious at how these aliens knew how to speak our languages in the first place. Who knows, if they take you back, they might perform tons of experiments on you. In fact, if these peaceful aliens had so high technology, they can surely take a group of people peacefully, and they would never know. Why would they even come to Earth in the first place? There are a billion stars in our galaxy, and there are a billion galaxies.
Optimus Prime: We learned Earth's language from the World Wide Web.

lol Jerain. xD I was so thinking that.
D: If I went the alien race would be doomed. My view on the things here are warped by my opinion of what they should be. xD And math/geography/anything not english/fun would be left in the dust (or just plain wrong). They'd be better off getting someone else.
But if I got asked? As long as I had no one to take care of, I'd probably go. o_o As long as I could bring my cat.

Nah, I don't think I would like what they would feed me. And I love this great big blob of rock we call earth.

Touch, metaphorically.
