Note: As yet, this won't be formatted much, and will expand only as fast as my farm can until I get input from others on the test crew. This should, however, give you a basic idea of what it's like. All the blank spots are for pictures I'm going to be cropping shortly.

(Placeholder, images for explaining different functions will go here.)
A: What's a farm?
The farm update in G14 is not quite like the farms in Tailltean. It's more like the housing system, but rather than a house in which things can be stored and sold, you're given an instanced (like dungeons-- has no actual location in the game world) plot of land in either Physis, Uladh or Connous.
First, buy a pass from Duncan:
Then, make sure you have a pickaxe to mine your ores, and press "A" to bring up your farm menu:
Click the button at the bottom to choose the location for you farm on a map of Erinn:
The difference between the three locations is almost purely aesthetic. Some decorations change, and the look of different objects. The only large difference is that Uladh farms will have 3 options for the second-tier house, while the others have only one.
All three begin with an ore pile and a spawn points, with only the ability to make their tier 1 house. For Uladh and Connous, a tent:
While for Vales, an igloo:

Once you leveled up to level 2 by making your house, you can place a farm (2 ore):
By clicking on your farm, you can then plant different fruit. At lv2, you can only plant strawberries, so use 1 seed packet from Duncan and 3 ores to plant you crop.
After 1 hour real-time, your strawberries will come to fruition, at which point you can harvest them for 200 chicks.
That will get you the 250 required for level 3, whereupon you start to have some options. You can now place a well, plant tomatoes, and add various different scenic objects to your quaint farm. Since it's the only usable object you can place at this level, you may as well throw down a well. This takes 7 ores, 5 firewood, 2 building stones (from Duncan) and one other mat I'm still identifying. If you have some spare ore, you can use another three to plant some tomatoes. They take an hour and a half though, but yield more chicks. Don't forget to harvest!
What can I build?
Here I'll begin to assemble as comprehensive a list as I can on what can be built. I'll cover upgrades in another section.
Housing:
Level 1:
House: Gives 50 chicks, takes 10 seconds to build. Costs 5 Action Points.
Tools:
Level 3:
Well: Gives 100 chicks, takes 15 seconds to build. Costs 7 Action Points, 10 Common Leather Strap, 2 Building Stones and 5 Firewood. Can have water gathered from it like a normal well.
Level 4:
Herb Patch: Gives 50 chicks, takes 10 seconds to build. Costs 5 Action Points and 30 Base Herbs. Seems to only give Base Herbs.
Level 5:
Farms:
Level 2:
Farm: Gives 50 chicks, takes 30 seconds to build. Costs 2 Action Points. Can be used to grow the various crops available. Note: Growing two crops simultaneously seems to be broken as of yet. The first to finish will glitch, and lose the farm under the crops. You will be unable to do anything with them.
Scenery:
Various bits of scenery become available at different levels, most costing 1, 3, 5 or 10 Action Points.
That's all for now, until my ore respawns so I can get further. Feel free to make additions/comments or format this if you wish, I'll update it as I can.
