I wouldn't know. This was the first and only Advanced Wars I've played. I loved it so much...

I played every Advance Wars.
Personally, Days of Ruin was my favorite. It was the most different, so it felt the worst at first, but after giving it plenty of gameplay, I thought it was good beyond all other Advance Wars combined.
Dual Strike is plenty of fun, though its mostly playing on the fact that there are a ton of CO's and options. Certain CO team ups completely broke the game when their powers combined though. ABSOLUTELY broke the game.

I never really played competitively due to the fact that it was just me, and I was young. I just loved the strategy and the themes of the game.
Like when I played it i used to pronounce CO and a word like "Co" not "C-O" haha

I love the music in these games. Especially Tabitha's theme.

As for playing it competitively... I didn't drop any of the games until I got S rank on every campaign and war room mission.
The final few stages of Days of Ruin were the hardest to S rank. Ever.
Hard mode on the original Advance Wars was a headache too. Seriously.
I hope whatever they make for the 3DS has net play.

I love the Music in so many games Cucu.
As for the getting everything 100% in games basically, I was too young to care, and even now I tell myself "OH I'M GOING TO PLAT THIS GAME" but I end up getting bored.

So tempted to use my DS ROM and Emulator to play this... I have it and everything... Using the mouse is a bit too annoying though...

Full controlls purely by buttons. Touch pad was only optional and I never used it.
