Are there ever going to be a different of style mission, other than "Go there, go through traps, kill boss in some fun way."?
I sort of want to see a defensive style mission, where monsters come at you, or a more aggressive type of mission, where you must chase down the monster you aim to kill.

More bosses? Bigger bosses? Remove the level cap?

The problem is, in Mabi when they introduced some things like that (Conflict, Tailteann Defensive Battle), no one played them and hated them...
Defensive Battle was a lot of fun, for example, but often you had a really fail party and lost.
I'd like to see something like the very 1st cutscene, where perhaps there's a story all throughout the mission. Make it timed.
Or actually have it like a battle with NPC helpers on a huge plain, lots of monsters that fight coordinated, ranged monsters in the back, tanks in the front- would be lag hell but a lot of fun, IF you had a decent party.

I'm just waiting for a new PSP version, when that happens I'm going to buy myself a PSP, the game, and a 200 foot ethernet cable that reaches my modem from my room.

Yes! New PSP version is needed. MHTri is so boring and dull. If fails because of the Wii's inability to have downloadable content.

I never mentioned why I needed ethernet cable in my room haha. PS3 has AD-HOC party <3
I loved Tri, but like after doing the same missions over and over again it got a bit boring imo.

I remember atleast one mission where it's more about surviving a certain amount of time. Although I don't remember how it worked exactly. You eventually wind up in a room in what seems like an impossible fight and have to last a certain amount of time until the door opens and you can move on.

I agree, all the missions are rather lackluster compared to the Tutorial......its sad.

I've actually seen this in every MMORPG I've ever played.
They try to hook you in with the tutorial (if I had a dime for every the city-is-being-destroyed-oh-noes intro I've played...(Allods, LotRO, just to name a few)
I'd be rich.), then send you to the city for the kill-ten-rats, or in this case, what's pretty much the same dungeon with different graphics.
Games need to be more creative with battle types, as OP said.

Eh. MHP3rd doesn't have downloadable content, it just has a crap ton more out of the box.

That sounds like a cool mission. Getting swarmed is funnn
The dungeon traps need to be a bit more creative as well (and more punishing).

Well, the Urkul raid has you running in a chase for your life before you fight him. That sorta counts for something, I guess.

Keijo wrote on 2010-12-24 16:43
I wana see someone get trampled by Urkul while running. That would be so funny

maybe because we only play it once is why it seemed so great
(imagine having to do that mission over and over <-<)
though missions that involve NPCs might be fun (poor Ellis)
and agreed with OP about the Defense thing too, Vindictus looks like it has so much potential with that xD
or have one mission be a giant battlefield one of these days (wasn't the Gnoll Chieftain one suppose to be some kind of all out battle against the Gnolls?)
