With the advent of G13, rafting will not allow players to reset the rewards after talking to the spirit weapon (or any of the other methods). This will be inconvenient for mages who rely on making pots with Mana Herbs obtained through this process (or ingots and tipping suits for other purposes).
Therefore I am spending my time collecting enough Mana Herbs to fill 5 alts (including bank tabs of assistant characters). That's a lot of herbs, but it's the only solution I could think of given the future scarcity of these goods. It is also an economic principle which I noticed while writing this:
if the sellers expect prices to increase, they might decrease the quantity currently supplied at a given price in order to supply when the price increases, resulting in a supply curve shift to the left.
Anyways, I created this thread so that you guys do the same with ingots, leathers, burst warrior items, etc.

Wait, huh? We can change rewards now?
Educate me!

Just take out the ego, talk to it and the reward changes.

Oh xD
Well basically you press "receive later" and then talk to the spirit weapon twice. There other methods like making people join and leave your party but I have never tried them. Just repeat until you get what you need. ;D

That's not even really a solution, just a means of delaying the problem... Even if you rafted enough, just a rank or two of potion making/blacksmith would deplete your resources really quickly.
They really need to make those items fixed rewards or implement better ways to obtain them. According to the g13 overview, these items will appear more frequently... but just how frequently? I really doubt anything would compete with getting exactly what you want after every stop.

If you're not satisfied with your rewards at a dock, you can ask to receive them later and then press the Spirit Chat button 4 times before speaking to the native again... At the moment, this will most likely reset the rewards that aren't fixed.

It's pointless to stock up. You'll run out eventually.
Continue to raft with a good chance at obtaining mana herbs, kill mobs that drop them frequently or rank herblore. Those are your options.

SCC Hard solo spam for MP100s, go!

Well when Pierrick was selling MP 300's I did practically the same and I didn't need to buy Mana Herbs or make pots for a good while (and I mean like 3 or 4 months). Of course I'll run out of herbs eventually but it'll help endure hard times, like in Tarlach people are already selling a stack of Mana Herbs for 25k and a stack of pots for 50k, which is scary. And the worst part is that people are buying them.

Yea it sucks but there are going to be other ways like the common leathers rewards.
That's only if they greatly increase the chances of other rewards happening.

Why not stock up? How is it pointless? You have a chance to get Mana Herbs from one of the easiest ways in this game that will be gone rather soon. Why not do it? Seems like a good plan to me. Sure you'll run out but you're spending much less time doing this rather than doing it when you can't change the rewards.
With your "It will run out eventually" logic, everything must be pointless.

The funny thing is I only learned the ego trick about a week ago. So I guess it will be no big loss for me.
Still, stock up people!

Uh, what's the big deal lol... mana herbs are still a guaranteed reward for 28 stars. Just can't guarantee a tipping with it anymore.

I don't agree with it being pointless, but stocking up isn't a real solution and just a way to delay the problem.
Mana herbs aren't really at risk, though... you can always get either herbs or ingots with the right amount of stars at every dock, so there's little purpose to stocking up on either. It's the convenience of getting both at the same time, or the increased chance at the other rewards that are not fixed that will suffer the most from this.
