Carpentry is pretty fun to do. When you first start off most of it is cutting and making avg/fine woods to rank and get exp. My advice to you would be to keep all those as you go through to help along the way. At rank 6 you will need to start buying avg and fine wood to make it go faster. You will also need to stock a ton of thick threads. In the later ranks it pays to do your work on monday only and to get the wood you need during the week.
I ranked carpentry to rank 1 in three weeks. Non of it was on double rainbow unfortunatly or It would have been alittle faster. Now im going for master and its taking me about 3 weeks to get that done. I may have that done on monday.

I concur. Your life Skill tab is godly >: Any advice for r1 Herbalism? I often spam Ciar and I have a Herb Pig, but yeah.. things are still a bit slow, lol.
Oh, and Refine; though I'm guessing that and Metalurgy go hand in hand? Hah.
Anywho, congrats. :B

so that was why you were spamming short bows
@carpentry guide
without buying stuff it's pretty much
1- chop wood and fill your inv
2- turn that firewood to average wood and store it on pets
3- repeat 1
4- when pets are full with average, make fine
5- repeat 1~4 till pets are filled with fine
** raft for a break and get the mats for bows (leather, thick threads, wtv)**
6- make finest / bows with that fine wood
7- stock up/use finest to make bows (r4+)
8- repeat 1~7 all day till you can rank it up
there's no tricks for carpentry, its really just chop wood all day. Oh yea and abuse production parties :I

The trick for herbalism is fairly simple. Solea is full of herb patches, 3 of them in every main room. Equip an L-rod and explore down there, learn the spawns for the patches and its all gravy.

I use this map to track down the herbs for my ranking:
[Image: http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee417/SuohSuoh/1-1.jpg]
I'd aim for the blue ones because the red ones are hard to collect because of the mobs that constantly respawn~ o.e

Yep basically just what Suoh said. When you do this you can actually do it in a circle. Do one of the rooms, cc to all channels uncovering all herb spots, then move on to the next area. By the time you get back to the first area you started at, the herb patches would have respawned.
