I don't really get what this means, but I've heard it referenced numerous times.
I'm under the impression that it's using a sprint smash to get away, but it doesn't really feel useful. It's fast, but the range is so short! Am I doing it wrong?

Used to deal heavy stun damage, which helps knock down bosses.
Also used to break off parts of the boss's body, since it has plenty of push to it.
Its damage isn't nice, but its very fast, and you go right into heavy stander whenever you want, so its a very safe method of putting the boss into a stun.
Edit:

Its actually much faster when you're hitting an actual target, if you can do it right.
Theres also this, if you've got some stamina and need to move out of the way from a boss attack.

Sprint Dash distance is about the same distance as the roll, so it's not like you're losing out when you use it.
