Does golem summoning become useless in the future boats? Asking this because I never see them being used in KR videos of unreleased boats. I really don't use it much but it's still nice to have a distraction+knockdown tool.

Well o_o With the Evy revamp they're thinking about doing (Mabi Heroes might get it in Spring). They're upping Alchemy.. so~ I'd say it sort of is useless later on? They'll probably die in a couple of hits, maybe. It's just me guessing based on how long they survive on Lagho raids.

I hope they uncap golem so they're not entirely useless later on, as they seem to be now. :\ Rank A creates a level 40 golem, and it should go higher, but ahh.

As of boat 4, they're pretty awesome though. It's basically having an invincible giant companion with decent knockdown rate.

Which gets in the way and blocks your view.
Your attacks can't reach the boss through the golem but the boss' attacks can still hit you.

I'm pretty sure it's only the attacks that have a huge splash radius that hits you. I hid behind my golem during Singleshot's little rampage and didn't directly get hit by any of the arrows or the fireball.

And that's why I never summon my golem. If they just allow us to attack through the golem it would be like twice as good.

Giant Red Spider's swipes and Kobold King's throwing axe hit me through the Golem

^ never had those problems.
during a big mess where everything's pushed to a corner, you never know what really hit you anyways.
although i'd say golem is nice, it's not a necessity now or later on.

Whenever I use golem I usually attack the monster from behind while it is focused on my golem. It's usually not an issue to attack or see the boss and I don't expect the golem to block anything so I dodge accordingly. Of course I only use it while playing solo, it's really annoying in parties.

It's only really useful during solo anyways xD

The biggest gripe I have about golems is the time it takes to use one.
Otherwise I love it.

One trick is to summon your golem before the boss fight and then tell it to disappear. When the boss appears, tell it to get up. It should only take like 1-2 seconds to get it up that way.

I usually do that, but I've terribly forgetful, so if I don't remember, I pretty much don't get to use a golem.

The only time you're saving by doing it that way is the time while at the boss. Overall, you're taking a lot more time to summon the golem, dismiss it, and then resummon it. The first-time summoning time is much like the time it takes to consume an HP potion. It's not bad enough that I've ever felt the need to summon/dismiss before the boss.
One real negative about doing it the "quick" way is that you always go through the animation to resummon whether or not the summon can be performed where you are. If it's the first summon instead, it will flat out tell you "You cannot summon here" or whatever and not waste your time performing any animation.
