Dash jumping is so handy. xD
Taking down a group of trees by jumping on top of them from a nearby cliff side. xD

I never really considered it until I started playing 1.8. Then it hit me. HOLY F***. This thing could appear at anytime without warning, and if it appears in a cave... *shoots self* I psyched myself out to the point where I either am always playing on peaceful or I wear a pumpkin constantly.

from what ive seen the endermen are slighly glitched. whenever i look at them directly then look away they dont seem to aggro, they wait like 30 seconds then OH SHI- ninja me.

Endermen sure do love to ruin my underground dungeon walls. Regardless, I just got back from a 3 hour journey into the abandoned mineshafts with a friend where we subsequently got lost and saw all sorts of stuff. They're really buggy in where they spawn the wooden beams. I was somewhat disappointed by that but it's understandable from a dev's perspective. Sadly, I've yet to see a single fortress or whatever it's called. Or any ravines. But man, the work on the biomes Notch did was fantastic.

Found a mushroom.
Decided I wanted to make a Giant Mushroom.
Waited for night and went to a wide flat field in view of my house.
Turned from Peaceful to Easy.
Unpause game, 5 seconds later I get shot them exploded from behind.
Quickly realize that I forgot to get armor and food.
PANIC and run back home getting shot at and slightly get caught in 2 more explosions.
Get back in my house and get my armor and eat and wait for my health to return.
Go back to field and begin fighting random monsters.
Kill some spiders.
Kill some Skellies.
Kill one creeper and fail to kill 4 more before they exploded.
Kill some zombies.
Realize it's daybreak.
Spot an Enderman in the distance.
Decide I'd rather not bother it.
Return home and run into 2 more creepers I fail to kill.
Kill 3 spiders that were on the way.
Get in my house and count my spoils.
Realize I only got 2 bones all night.
...
Immediately grow a giant brown mushroom.
YEAHHHH!
I count this as one of my first successful outings.
Above ground outing. Yay.
I'm so not ready to go underground.
Silverfish scare the living daylight outta me. D8
Bugs, just... no.

I played on peaceful all the time before 1.8, it's seems easier but it's so much more fun and rewarding to play on something else. Ease your way into going on to normal by going to easy.

Do any of you guys know about seeds for map generation? You should try the suavebaby challenge.
Basically, start a new world with the seed "suavebaby" and survive on the island chain you spawn on for 30 days without dying on hard mode, or leaving the island chain. Good luck when there's only a small amount of grass to obtain seeds from and a single tree to gain wood from. With hunger, minecraft has become so much harder to survive in when you play without spawning your own items.
