Ah lucky, Strongholds are rare!(3 per world)
All You need to do is Get a diamond armor set, A crap load of Arrows and ladders and 12 Eyes of ender.

Or grind monsters and try for the Infinity enchantment on a bow :B
Man, I'm so bad with grinding exp...
I should try to create one of those exp grinders where monsters spawn in a large dark area where water pushes them into a hole where they drop a long distance and take so much damage that a single punch would be enough to finish them off :B
Well that sounds like it could take a while to make...

Best exp farms are made from Cave Spider spawners, just look at a few of Etho's videos (
www.youtube.com/user/EthosLab), don't remember exactly what episode numbers though, somewhere near the 110's.
What it mainly is though, 16x16x16 area surrounding the spawner, water canals to pull them towards a central point, water elevator to carry them up, and a drop at the end before the central point where you kill them. Not sure how many blocks they have to drop to deal enough damage, but Etho's videos should have the info.
(no tutorial, but hopefully the videos are enough to go by)

32 I believe...
I usally just clear out the spawner's hall way and wait at the end for them to come at me, even tho I get close of the hall way with Fence, and clear two blocks on the sode of the fence, It gives you enough room to attack them and they ca't get to you.
Hall way
with spawner
[B][S][S][S][B]
[B][S][S][S][B]
[B][F][F][F][S] <--- Brake this block
[S] = Space
[F] = Fence
[B] = Block/Stone
slow but it works.
Also great way of getting spider eyes and string!

32 blocks would kill them :P
They need to be dealt enough damage so you can finish them off with a single punch.
Also, your method is very inefficient :P

Uh..
I kinda skipped 71 pages.
Dunno what's already been discussed.
My MC Username is Owloysius and I have a purchased game membership.
If anyone has any multiplayer servers, I'd love to join.
Except I don't know how mods and plugins work.

Your intro is kind of confusing. I'm actually interested/bored enough to begin to try it. Do I have to buy it and how much is it and do you guys play on the same server or something?
If you guys are on the same server, how can I guarantee the most building fun without worrying about griefers and creepers destroying all my hard work :/
I guess I should start with the Minecraft wiki I suppose. I only know the general stuff about Minecraft atm :/
UPDATE:
Okay I guess there is a free version but it's outdated. Not sure if I want that. It looks like it's a one time fee so **** it. I'll just buy the damn thing. It's only $26.95. I guess it's $27.04. Must be due to pesky currency exchange fees.

I'll admit Minecraft gets boring after awjile, But there are mods that spice up gameplay.

In terms of Creepers, stay on the lookout, and light the surrounding area up with torches or Glowstone to prevent mob spawns. Currently this server is whitelisted, and Trop is the only one that can Whitelist people (that I know of). So its only Nationers and people he knows.

Well so far I've been doing peaceful mode on singleplayer so that I can get accustomed to the game without having to worry about creepers blowing my shizz up.
Been digging like a maniac the past couple days. The underground is so vast! I think I've put in about 36 hours worth of digging and tunnelling so far.
First I made a tower that went as high as it would let me go, then I made a bridge to a distant island. Then I made an underwater glass conservatory that led the underground.
Now I'm working on a massive mine system.
Curious, is there a way to make an elevator to make a minecart go up? Or do I have to just pretend it magically returned to the surface?
Oh found youtube videos. Looks like there is a waterfall based one and a piston based one.

No way sadly, you could make a spril(Spelling) stair case with powered rails.
Even thought, Mods such as Powercraft have Elevators that could lift minecarts.

Piston elevators are actually pretty fast, just noisy :P
I'm just using a boat elevator in my newest base (up only, I have just a simple drop with a water break to go back down).

For some reason after 1.1 my minecraft gets to the updating screen and crashes. I've tried reinstalling Java, Force Updating, Deleting my minecraft folder, Deleting my bin file, and even reinstalling my graphic card driver nothing will work. Does anyone know a fix for this?

You know I actually started to do the ramp one earlier. I just need points where I can add an additional lever because for some reason the powered tracks stop operating at a certain difference away from a lever and I can't get the redstone links to work properly with levers. Not sure if that even works with levers. :/
Trying to see what I can do without mods first. There's still a lot I don't know. I'm kind of finding things out as I go along and look them up as needed. The water elevator doesn't sound like a bad idea save for the fact that this is entirely underground.
Of course now I've run into the issue of trying to continue to another tunnel. Only issue is I don't know if it's below or above me in my massive labyrinth of an underground :/
