Don't worry I am updating for g13 soon. This was just the start. Bottom of guide says this is still workin progress.
Thanks for your mage gear list though. I beleive you are correct about the Mana set.
I'd recommend holding off on final upgrades for shields and armors as the Artisan upgrades are due to be out.

Anyone that plans to take advantage of mana shield should definitely equip mana reduction gear. That'll effectively reduce damage by 10%.

One question. If we talk about reducing damage and reducing damage alone, wouldn't it be better to have high def and protection instead of a Mana Reduction set? Since protection is a %, it doesn't really matter if it's calculated before or after Mana Shield damage efficiency (it will compound in the end), so a 10%+ protection set AND X def would be better for this purpose.

Clothing has the most potential for protection, though, specially as of G13... compounded with mana shield, mana reduction, high MP and protection boosts from elf/giant trans you'll be able to tank quite a lot.

Plus, isn't it being incorporated that a higher INT in later Generations will give you lower damage from magic attacks? (Like, magic defense)

Wouldnt it be better to have two aquaris enchants on your accessories? thats what ive been using
Aquaris:
Int+10
Mana+5
Hp+5
Yeah I was thinking of assesories along those lines. However My main goal is to get both Hebona bonus and Trinity Wear bonus, which is ice(i'm more consirned with ice bonus than fire) and firebolt +10% and Trinity wear I want the mana reduction bonus (something giant mages have had a hard time to get) I might even need the mana witch assesories if I get them fully from enchants, but if the Trinity wear I get has a low grade of mana reduction I might have to consider resorting to the mana witch.

Use that link Archibald, thats what I used to figure out my enchant list. Please note there are a crazy ammount of Mage enchants, for example Sprout enchant makes will o wisp obselete pretty much. Oh and thank you so much for provoding this information, its great to see new mages "Sprout" up with helpful guides and tips at thier disposal.

Yes I think they add a new Stat called Magic defense, which you gain 1 Magic defense for every 20 int.

Hmm, Mana Sorcerer...
Any news on Rank 9 Suffic for Shoes? Mana Sorcerer Mana Wizard Karis Shoes for 10 MP Reduction would be pretty sexy.

He's not exactly a new mage, Vejosa. He's THE MAGE of Alexina. :x Thanks for the link though! *bookmarks*
Also a note on the prices: scary, serious, and dangerous go for at least 1mil in Mari. Same goes for burgundy bear, but I've seen that drop to 800k at times.
Awesome guide though!

Dear God. All of that seems very difficult/annoying to get it...
I think I'll stick with my main mana reduction set and pray that I don't get hit lol.
Add to that, I only have 800k which means I'll have to do all the work by hand considering how expensive Mari Server tends to be.

Should I get Formal enchant rather than Wizard just because of the availability? The effects are half of wizard but it seems a lot easier to enchant and heck it even has a possibility to come on a wand.

A more "budget friendly" version of this set (still g12):
Burgundy Bear/Wisp Norman Helm 2/1 +10MP +3 INT
B.Bear/Wisp Val/Dustin Gauntlets 3/1 +10MP +3INT
B.Bear/Wisp Spaika Boots 3/1 +10MP +3INT
Rigid/Wisp Kite Shield 7/0 7% melee ping, +10MP +3INT
Defensive/Imp Valencia's (smithed for 6/4), upgrade to 15/10, total 21/12, 15% melee and range ping
Formal or Wisp Wands
rk1 Def, Master of Barrier Spikes title
51 Def
28 prot (+3 g14)
21% melee ping
15% range ping
+50-60MP
+15-21INT
You can shave the budget down even further using light melka armor sacrificing 15% pings.
As for the Main set, I would consider replacing Wisp, Waterfall, Mana, and Wizard with Mana Wizard enchants. Loss of 49INT and 37-62MP in exchange for mana reduction set effect. With a range of 4-12 for the set effect, it would require an overall good luck with the rolls, and more than likely a lot of re-enchanting for better rolls. Clearly hugely expensive/time consuming, but we are trying for "the best." The loss of MP seems high, but consider the mage using this is probably going to have 600-ish MP based on Mana Master guid, that loss is somewhat trivial. The loss of INT (therefore damage) come g13 is pretty relevant though. Which would be better overall for the tank set? A loss of about 2.5% damage or 10% mana use?
Also "Sweet" is an alternative to Wizard, offering +25-30MP and +5 defense.

Great guide Zy, I should spend some time on making a tank set.
