Just wondering about what other experiences people have with the lag in this game. For me, it's pretty bad since I have to play via AOL or another proxy service, the screen "jerks" all the time and I can't fire Magic Arrows accurately because they always come out a second or too late. And don't get me started on PGing with Fiona! So I end up soloing a lot.
Recently I have been thinking of investing in a VPN service since I play a lot of Vindictus, but from what I've heard from various players in NA, they aren't getting very good speeds either. Like when I type "omg lag" in party chat usually another person agrees, even when they are 3 or 4 bars to my 1 bar (I always get 1 bar no matter who is the host)
So is it possible to actually play unlagged party games on Vindictus? I don't mind some lag like when the Polar Bear smashes the ice around (my screen actually freezes on that one for a while) but it's getting tiring playing with the jerky animation I experience daily.
How about you guys? Do you lag a lot? What's it like playing without a proxy?

It really depends. When it first came out, I was fine with Heretic hosting for a few days -- then it slowly became unplayable. Now it's sort of better. I still get random lag where it's really hard to dodge or do anything. The bars lie though, I swear they do.

I only get sound lag, where things replay over and over. I rarely lag, even on high settings, unless I have a bad host.

I don't really lag anymore because I host like most of the time and as you know, the host never lags. Also, when I join other people's parties, I pretty much leave if A) The host doesn't have 5 bars himself or B) I don't get like 4 bars to the host. This basically ensures that I won't lag in that party.

Graphics(sometimes) and bad hosts...or when I'm hosting a party of four or more.

When I host, people usually don't lag, or at least it's not significant enough for them to actually point it out.
On fishing boats, (when I'm not hosting, I don't know if I do), everything's fine up to 5 players. When we reach 6, it becomes unplayable enough to prevent me from fishing accurately.

Graphic/Network lag.
I can RARELY get over 200MS in towns.
Everywhere else, I'm at about 10~30 ms.
In dungeons, it's just my graphics.

graphics and internet, whole shebang
oddly enough, graphics lag that the host feels spills over to us too, when mobs lag or its an intro scene or a column breaks everyone goes down a bar or two for a second. that's why im doubly scared to host anything myself..

This! I HATE when that happens with the host. I know my graphics card, now, is good enough to not experience that. But it's frustrating when the host gets it (Lagho raids, the baby spider spawns). But I can't really complain cause I can't host at all cause of my internet. <3!

i only ever lag when i open something like the marketplace and the sound lags, or if I'm playing with a host that has like 10 things running in the background because they don't understand how a computer works :/

What do you all mean by graphics lag, as opposed to Internet lag? So all the random jerkiness I'm experiencing is graphics lag or Internet lag? (BTW my settings are turned down to minimum, and I don't lag at all when I'm not in a party)
Wow I can't imagine playing Vindictus without lag at all...maybe I should really get a VPN...
