Yeah its more or less the lag and dead mob severs that have me going a bit meh, cant have motivation when there is nothing to use it on :/
I mean its like they pretend there is no side content or better events they could offer us and all, give us some stuff the other severs had, we don't really need to rush form gen to gen, just give us somthing new and fun to do now and then.

My motivation is mainly just being there to have fun with my guild members and my brother.
Also, to feel pro. Right now I'm ranking Thunder and I'm feeling pretty badass, even if I just use it for rafting. I've never gone back to artifact exploration again (thank god!!).
With G13, you may indeed come back. The classes and the masteries definitely revolutionize the game for some of us older players. But yes, you are right; Mabinogi does need more fun things to do. That tag event was really fun back in the day, they should've made it permanent.
But then again, there's stuff like the G14 Private Farm coming up. You just gotta find way to make the game interesting for yourself, just like real life. Real life is only boring when you make it boring. Find ways to motivate yourself, make things interesting.
Good luck!

Kinda stopped playing it cause I need to get some real life skills to R1, and even if I do that I'ma probably play more Minecraft, and accomplish other goals in real life before I go back to playing MMOs Dx

Have you ever lost Motivation to play Mabinogi but still want to play?
Story of my life.

Usually it's best to take a break from something if you don't feel the drive to play, but personally there are lots and lots of things to do in mabi that can keep you busy forever. I find though that when I'm bored on my human I take a week or so to work on my elf or my giant and just putz around. I don't take either of them seriously but it's fun just to be different and work on a weaker character. And sometimes you get the drive to take something from there over to your main, like I decided to bring my ranging skills up my human when I found out that crossbows are actually pretty fun. The best I can say is when you're bored and lack the drive, try doing something different, or just take a break from the game entirely. If you never come back, then I guess that's your indication you're finally done.

I'm beyond unmotivated. I have no one left that plays, the grind has become a drag not an adventure, and absolutely nothing new has or is coming out that's got me even slightly excited in a long while.
I'm partially retired now and sort of playing PWI again but that's not holding my interest much either so I'm probably going to stop gaming again for a few years if something doesn't change.
I could go on a whole spiel about how this generation is too different from me and yadda yadda but lets not go there. I honestly have no idea why i come online period anymore.
As for mabi? I don't think I can play much longer for several reasons. I have many goals I wanted to accomplish but I can't do it, the game is starting to piss me off in more ways than one.

I am really unmotivated, but this is one of the best mmo's that I played, so I really want to play again.

Friends and my leadership duty to my guild keep me coming back.
Alexina: Game balance, competition, drama, atmosphere, entire communities being closed doors, Nexon, and this crippling lag are what finally drove me to stop playing seriously on this server (though I'm sure what I listed can be applied to the other servers). I'm only hoping I don't lose my mementos from my old friends who are long gone.
I'm a tired and bitter player who's been with Alexina server every step of the way since its beginning. Beta were those better days. But these people...
I at least try to keep a smile on my face and help. And enjoy what I can and what I have left. All my good friends who left... I understand them so much now about this. After all this time... in my eyes, I'm still carrying on for them.
It hurts. I haven't ever felt this way with any other MMOs (or online games) I've played. This ****ing hurts.

What else?
To have R1 all Music Skills.
I dunno... It's fun to have, really.

I set goals for myself.
I.e. Oh, I should rank this or this. Lets DO EET.
Or for getting skills, completing generation quests, getting some rare item, etc etc. There's always something to do one way or another.. especially the lower level you are.
