So~ My baby brother decided he should play Vindictus too (yay~! I so hope he never sees this)..
He's actually more tech savvy than me, he's the one who built my computer and usually trouble shoots if I have something wrong. D: So it's kind of useless to have me trouble shooting for him.
Anyways, he downloaded and installed the game perfectly fine, made his character and started doing dungeons. Then he started getting disconnected from the server every 15 to 30 minutes, though sometimes he managed to last almost a whole hour. He does have his own internet connection too, which is the same as mine so that, shouldn't be the problem. I admit our internet can be somewhat crappy, but I've never had the problem of disconnecting that often. And yes, we live in an area they actually support.
Computer Specs:
Windows 7
AMD Ahtlon II X3 425 @ 2.71Ghz
4.00GB DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 4700 512MB
What We've Tried:
* Lowering the graphics
* Restarting the computer
* Updated Internet Explorer (just in case)
* Tried the .exe starter and the website starter
* Deleted the CurrentInfo.txt to see if repatching would help
* Gave him my Vindictus folder
* Reinstalling
Any help would be much appreciated!

Restart the Router / Open your Ports?

He's not on a router. D: We're both connected to our own modems.

Check if any anti-virus and firewall programs are interfering with Vindictus and Hackshield. Also close down any unnecessary background programs.

I'll let him know, I think he might have done that already though. lol. He's a bigger gamer than I am and definitely more knowledgeable. xD
Edit* Oh, he said he doesn't use any. D: So.. definitely not that then.

Hey Panda, sort of curious how this is set up. Wondering cause usually most people have one line in, and then use a router to split the connection.
I'm not familiar with the 2 modem set up, and wondering if maybe there's some kind of interrupt issue where the modems maybe interfering with eachother.

I'm not really sure how it's set up, at least.. xD Not that familiar with it. I do know that we have one line coming in, then we split off into different lines before connecting to our own modems. So basically it goes~ Internet Connection -> Split into 3 different wires -> Connected to 3 modems (and one modem is connected to the router). We have wires and split things up the wazoo in our house. :D
But it's never interfered before with torrenting/downloading or gaming. ^^; I thought it might be an issue too, but it still happens when my modem is unplugged.

Going to ask a slew of questions because I think more info may be needed.
When did this disconnecting start for you? Was anything done prior to either your computer or the network before the disconnecting started?
When your brother disconnects are you also playing at the same time? Do You also get disconnected at the same time?
When you guys disconnect, can you still connect to the internet?
When you disconnect, are you in parties? or are you soloing?
note: don't want to get your hopes up as I don't have much experience with Vindictus and connectivity issues. I keep thinking there is some sort of network issue or possibly some kind of timeout issue because of the peer-to-peer functionality of Vindictus

For me, never. I still don't have the problem with Vindictus at all, minus the few disconnections on my end due to the internet itself (If I go down, everyone is down at the same time).
My brothers first disconnection was around 30 minutes? Or so after first starting his character. I know he spent around 40-50 minutes in one instance, it started happening more and more frequently for him though.

I wasn't at the time when he first got disconnected, then I was trying to help him online after. But me being on or off doesn't seem to have an effect on his being disconnected or not. :D And nope, never been disconnected cause of him at all.

I know he's able to connect to the internet while playing Vindi, and after it disconnects him from the game ^^; We were on MSN together.

Solo and in parties. He disconnects in town too.

No worries. ;D We just got started playing Final Fantasy XIV together. If this ends up being fixed, great. :) But I'm not worried if it doesn't get fixed. I just hope that there might be a fix out there.. somewhere!

Finally, I'm not the only one with this problem. Strangely, ever since EAOB, I NEVER got disconnected. But until now, it's changed. I dc every 2 minutes and I tried many solutions and it never worked. Whe will this end?! :(

Most likely your av or firewall. disable them or allow vindictus as an exception in yur av and firewall

I tried. It can't work. I also use a router. Any suggestions?

Are you using wifi? If you are, and you are using encryption, make sure you are using AES for your encryption type, not TKIP.

Okay, I must bump this, for I also have this problem. (except I feel my case is even worse)
I have an AMD Phenom quad core 2.4 gHz with NVIDIA Gefore 9500 GT. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit protected with BitDefender Total Security 2011. My ISP is Cox Communications and my router is a DLink Wireless N 300.
My problem is that I get d/c every 5-15 minutes, mainly DURING a dungeon. I usually set my security on game mode, and I set my firewall on both Windows and Bitdefender to allow Vindictus. I opened the ports for it too on my router, although I'm connected through an ethernet cable. What could possibly be the problem?!
I should also mention that I play other graphics intensive PC games too. I NEVER get d/ced from those games. ONLY with Vindictus.
