Extra Defense & Durability on Smithed Armors

Right, so obviously high quality smithed armors get extra defense, protection, and durability. For Heavy armors, the highest I've seen is 7 Def / 4 Protection / +5 Durability. My question as an elf is what's the highest that light armor can go? I've seen 4 Defense / 2 Protection / +4 Durability, but is it possible to get, say, 5 Defense / 3 Protection /+5 Durability or something?

I'm asking because I'm trying to plan what armor to use for my final armor (Principle's Darkness) and I definitely want the best possible smithed thing I can get. I'm currently thinking about a smithed Cloth Mail (ugly as CRAAPPP but highest dura of all smithable light armors). Am I right in picking this or is there a better choice for LIGHT ARMOR? Keep in mind I don't care a thing about looks or rep or anything while wearing this, this armor is going to be picked solely based on its stats.

also i thought +Dura went up to +6 xD
also i've only heard of extra def on things like that ethereal gem dustin armor and smithed gauntlets and boots...

not sure though :S

Well, those +1 def+3 protection heavy armors are extremely rare finishes...
But hypothetically, if you're looking for the highest possible stats on a made light armor, and price/rarity is no concern...
The Terra V-Line four point armor has a base stat of 4 def and 2 protection, so you can technically make a 5 def 5 protection light armor...if tailoring allows those S+ finishes.. I personally have seen none though.

What I do know is the +2 protection +5 dur finishes...in which case, that armor would still get you the most protection

But seeing as the pattern only drops from Arch Lich, and that you plan to principle's and darkness, maybe it's not so wise, unless you have so much NX it's coming out of your pores. @_@

Also, the regularly signed tailored light armors come with +2 protection and +5 dur.
So 4 defense, 3 protection and Dur(Base)+5.

4/2 is the best that I've found for light armor. If you want dura then cloth mail is fine. Light armor is pretty much universal in stats except tailored versus store bough really. There isn't really a "best" armor for the light category. High class is just the highest ranked light armor to make that looks most metallic and thus is often used as "the best" solely due to that but it's untrue and based of style alone.

I pick style and function with light armor because you can and it wont matter. I'm going to use a spark leather armor tailored for my base light armor but that's just me.

So really any tailored light armor will be what your looking for it's just look and dura that remains the variable. If you can get a signature'd light armor that will be how you know it's the best you can get.

Unless there is a drop/collection light armor that's better that i just can't think of at the present.

Edit:
The 7/4 Dustin armors are only from ethreal gem as far as I can recall. Even then your chances of a 7/4 from ethreal gem is not 100 as it's randomized between 6/2 - 7/4 Dustin bodies.

China Dragon Armor is the only Light armor that I know of that comes with 6 defense and 2 protection. There is a version for elves, humans and giants...and it gets 5 upgrades.
I don't think it can be produced with the tailoring skill though.

Hm, so basically, crazy-ass random near-impossible S+ finishes aside, +2 Protection and +5 Durability are the highest bonuses you're going to see on armor? Sounds good to me lol. As for the China Dragon Armor....if we ever get that, I'm gonna go ahead and go with that, even though it can't be tailored, because it gets 5 upgrades and that pretty much almost automatically puts it ahead in terms of stats aside from dura.

Look on the Wiki page for the ranks of the finished item... Even a pro blacksmith or a tailor will be stuck on B+ or A- most of the time; it's nearly impossible to go any higher than that without an extremely high rank.
It seems that Repnt's limit is also B+.

Plus, those armors will be hard to enchant, so either go for other enchants, or use easier to acquire armor
