this is kinda another random thought
but anyone else thinks some skills should have the option of gaining exp by seeing a higher ranked player use the skill?
(I mean optional cause then there wouldn't be any r1s in the first place xD)

Sharp Mind trains like that... seeing mobs use skills.
I think it would take a lot of careful planning on how to balance that kind of training option into existing skills. Some are relatively easy to train as is, while others have training methods clearly intended to make them hard.
I'd cautiously say this sort of training could be put into more basic skills; defense, counter, basic bolts and similar skills. Perhaps only for letter ranks, and probably not enough total exp from this method to rank the skill (force the players to at least try the skill out themselves, not learn ranks just by watching alone).

yeah I guess I didn't have balance in mind for the most part, but it's based on the idea of like having a mentor and stuff
which I wonder why mabi never had a teacher/student kinda system

They have a very specific version of this. xD
Learning icebolt through Lassar's Classes.
Learning Smash through Trefor.
But those are for Humans.
And learning from books is kinda like that...
It'd be nice if you could learn Adv Magic just by seeing someone using it~

Even though people like to tease that sharp mind is a fairly useless skill... I beg to differ.
Seeing that small bubble, even if it has an "X" on it helps me time my skills perfectly. xD
Especially when monsters decide to "cancel" smash when running at you or using counter - > smash - > defense etc. or load different skills.
When the monster flashes, if you pay attention, is useful in knowing it is preparing a skill but you won't necessarily know if the load time is something big or another counter/defense.
That and having multiple skill bubbles on enemies help me know that enemy 3-4 are preparing skills while I am focused on enemy 1 helps me quickly predict if it is an offensive skill to attack me or a defensive/waiting skill.

I meant like player teaching player kinda teacher/mentor system xD
it would be nice for adv magic, but for it to be balanced I guess make it so you have to see someone cast, and strike 3000 times for you to gain knowledge of it xD

That'll be nice as an adventurer only skill.
Watch a person use in midbattle that you can't get prof of, get prof off it. Like if the adventurer has hailstorm, but can't rank it/get prof, the only way to get prof is witnessing a wizard use it in battle. You get the same amount of prof the wizard gets.

For adv magics how about being given a quest where you have to:
watch the skill finishing a mob 0/5000
getting hit by the skill 0/69
Use Ice bolt to finish a mob 0/6000
Rank Ice bolt to r9.
and then you get ice spear, but it is only rankable to r9, then you have to get half the adv magic pgs to rank it farther. either that or some kind of a dan test for it.
