RF WM is super useless IMO. If he is going to solo a lot, he's going to need a quick load AoE skill and magic is not quick. R5 isn't even that tough to get on a human, so I'd say to just get to R5 WM as it should be able to give him enough range and not be that much of a grind fest. Not to mention that WM training at zombies can give you pretty good experience compared to lower level dungeons.
Also, as Poc said, don't start in Alexina. There has been many, many problems with the server, so I'd recommend avoiding it.
