SAME. sometimes I have to re-do the clothing entirely because the shading doesn't look right... QQ. sometimes I give up and just do them nude. (then I cant post it anymore. argh)
post if you like :D wips always provide good insight into the artists method.

I actually thought about doing this nude, actually. And it totally doesn't fit the character so I didn't. Don't mind the different-colored hair XD

Ahhh really awesome drawing Adelynn! I really like how you soften the colors, gives the drawing a very natural and pastel look. Do you like purple? haha
The overall attention to detail in the patterns and the coloring really adds a lot to the drawings. Devils in the details right? Hope your hand didn't feel too horrible after all that :T_T:
Did you do all of this in photoshop? Also forget the Intuos4! Go big and get the Cintiq 21ux

Thank you very much! I have a thing for "softness", but I've learned to achieve it without soft brushes, which I'm totally happy about. XD
I used to suck at detail horribly, and sometimes I still do, but I'm working on it.
I'm still on Photoshop CS3 X'D. I can't afford a Cintiq, nor do I have the room for it at the moment. Our school has them, though, and the semester starts back up soon. ='D
I'm going to try saving up for a Cintiq and a hardcore desktop computer for my art eventually. College is just super expensive right now. x~x

Aaah yeeea, College can be crazy. But it's nice how the art department provides such nice toys. Wish I had access to that kind of stuff when I was in school. :T_T:
My friend got a cintiq21ux a bit ago, and I've been planning on ways to "borrow" it.
Question, would you be willing to color drawings from other people? :XD:

Her face angers me.

Adelynn wrote on 2011-01-14 01:22
I might be, depending on how much work they'd be. XD
I envy your friend. D=
Even if our school has them they only have a limited amount of pens they lend out so sometimes not everyone gets to use them.
@Lan: Unless you explain how I'm just going to overlook the post.. 8D

you did a small mistake i do quite frequently as well unfortunately due to the brain's visual bias, and its hard to notice unless you flip the image now and then XD
maybe you'll notice it here:

Why not just say it instead of playing Guess What's Wrong With Your Art? :S

I noticed something when I sent it to a friend, and I was like "Oh shi--" and this was before flipping.
But yeah, if you're going to crit me, actually crit me, don't just be all "it makes me angry".
As for the thing I noticed: While fixing one area on the face, I painted over one side of the lip with the skin color too much and now it's throwing the area off again. I can't even think about most of the rest without fixing that first. It's been bugging the crap out of me and I finally noticed why when I zoomed in. Jaw-line needs a re-shape too, but I'm waiting to make sure my computer isn't going on it's overheating spree anymore. Haven't touched the image in two days except for screenshots. 8D

I wonder what music you listen to while doing this.

Adelynn wrote on 2011-01-16 00:07
All sorts of random things.
I don't have a particular genre that I enjoy. I just go for whatever I find and like.
I'll click on a song I like relatively well, and then let it play. Eventually it's just kind of background noise that I need anyway.
Songs composed by Yuki Kajiura are a safe bet, though.

Sorry but I can't really think of anything better to say and can't put into words what I don't like and how it may be fixed.
