It doesn't seem so bad from what the cat read
but the cat was surprised that the guy didn't encounter a lot of zombies immediately upon waking up

Then he would have died and there would be no show.
It's been nominated for a golden globe. WATCH IT.

It sucks really bad. Don't even bother. The only good episode was the pilot.

Reception
Critical reception
The show currently scores 82 out of 100 on Metacritic based on 25 reviews, indicating Universal acclaim.[28] Nancy deWolf Smith from The Wall Street Journal said that the "pilot episode [is] so good that it has hooked even a zombie hater like me." She said that what made the show so good was that it feels real and looks cinematic.[29] Heather Havrilesky of Salon.com included the show on their list of 9 new TV shows to not miss, giving it a grade of "A", with the author saying "A film-quality drama series about zombies? Somebody pinch me!"[30]
Ratings
The pilot received 5.3 million viewers, making it the most-watched premiere episode of any AMC television series.[31] The first season finale received 6 million viewers, a series high; with 4 million viewers in the 18–49 demographic, making it the most watched basic cable series for the demographic.[32]
In the United Kingdom, it premiered one week after it did in the United States, on November 5, 2010 on FX. The premiere had 579,000 viewers, almost double for any other show that week. Even though ratings dipped for the following episodes, it has outperformed other shows in all but one week. The viewership rose again to 522,000 viewers for the final episode of the season.[33]
Awards and nominations
The Walking Dead has been nominated for Best New Series for the 2011 Writers Guild of America Awards.[34] It is nominated for Best Television Series Drama at the 68th Golden Globe Awards.[35] It was also named during the American Film Institute Awards 2010 as one of the top 10 television programs of 2010

Trying to compare a show with one season with a show that's been running for decades? For shame Tim.

Fine, any show, even if it has only lasted one episode, or has never even been created yet, but just dreamed up, with Emma watson wearing contacts that give her green eyes, is better than it.
And I really do what to watch this, I heard a ton of people talking about it at school, and by that I mean 5 people, but theres only 5 or 6 including me that I have heard talk about Doctor Who, so it has to be kinda good.

Good reviews don't always mean it's a good show. My friends were saying it was pretty good, but I'm too lazy to find the channel for it.

It was just really boring and slow. The only good parts were like the last 30 seconds of each episode. The rest of the show was the characters talking about how to save themselves and blah blah blah, and
the one guy doing the "dead" guys wife, only for them to both find out he isn't dead, then he's still in love with her, but she hates him for lying to her, blah blah blah.
And there are these racist hicks in it too. Gah, I definitely will not watch any following seasons.
You should watch Raising Hope. It's freaking hilarious. The family's so dysfunctional. :)
By the way Pika, it's on AMC (whatever channel that is for you). Which also had Breaking Bad, which was good for the first few episodes, then it tanked.
