I'm not sure as far as the hammer and the mace, but for now i'm using a Vales Great Sword with a Vales Shield. Eventually i'm going to change weapons though, for my ego [which I could use some help picking], but most of the giant-exclusive weapons are excellent [seeing as how they're geared towards us].

As for the rest, can't really help you there, sorry.

1, no clue, i never bother with enchants
2, DSKS works for me
3, Is not a question of wich weap grows faster but wich gender you pick for the spirit. Iron mace is cheaper repairs though.
