Okay, I did a search and only found a topic about the English version of Hatsune Miku, but here's a topic about both Vocaloid and UTAU in general.
What's your favorite Vocaloid or UTAU? Favorite songs? Favorite producers? Do you use the programs? If so, which program do you prefer? If you only use one, what do you like/dislike about it?
My favorite Vocaloid is probably Gumi, but I really like all of them. The only exception is Gachapoid...I'm sorry; I just can't stand his voice. My favorite song atm is "Holiday" by Megurine Luka <3 it's such a sad, yet beautiful song (not to mention the PV is great). I have a lot of producers that I love, but DECO*27 is certainly one of them. Him along with 40mP, shu-t, Dixie Flatline, wowaka, and some others xD
I actually use both UTAU and Vocaloid, and I'd have to say that I prefer Vocaloid. MUCH more user friendly in my opinion. The only thing I don't like about vocaloid is the weird drawing thing you have to do to change dynamics, pitch, and such. I wish it was more based on numbers like it is in UTAU.
Oh, and if you guys have any questions about the programs, ask :D I'll try to help and answer them <3
For those who don't know, Vocaloid and UTAU are both voice synthesizing programs that sing. You simply put in notes and lyrics and it'll sing :D however, UTAU is free (unless you get the shareware version) and you have to pay for Vocaloid. Vocaloid also has some higher quality voices and is a lot more user-friendly. With UTAU, anyone can make their own voicebank, so the quality varies from voicebank to voicebank.

Not sure why anyone wouldn't know what it is. A large portion a Japan's Otaku's probably revolve around it. Have you not seen the concert video?

Anyways, I never bothered to try the program, could probably just torrent it though can't say I'm too interested in actually making the music/stuff.

Well, yeah, more people in Japan know what it is. I've run into plenty of people though who don't know what vocaloid is.
I use them, though I pretty much make covers orz I have a few original songs on paper, but I don't have any instrumental programs to make it work.
@kNocturn:
Well, if you like Teto, maybe you'll like other VIPloids like Namine Ritsu?

ah D: well Ritsu does have a very nice voice. There's also Yokune Ruko and Sukone Tei, though Tei isn't as good as the others quality-wise.

I don't know that I have a favorite, since they can all sound very nice, or very...not nice. I am pretty into the Appends for Miku and Gumi's voice when it sounds more natural, but I'm also really into some of the wacky-sounding stuff, too. I like Luka's design and voice in general. Definitely near the top. Utatane Piko has some nice potential but I haven't found any versions of his male voice I'm feeling great about. It seems like mature male voices aren't used very well but Gakupo's my least favorite because he suffers from it the most. I love all of the 'loids but him I'm iffy on.
I'm not really into UTALOIDs that much so I can't say a lot about them.
I don't and have no interest in using the software. No idea what I would actually do with it if I got my hands on it because I'm not into writing music and I don't feel like doing covers (but listening to other people's versions is really neat).
I still find this kind of amazing XD

I love Miku's appends o.o I've been using them a lot lately. I really like her Vivid and Soft appends. Definitely want to get the Kagamine appends as well.
Oh, here's the Luka song I was talking about in my first post:

Every once in a while we meet a poor sap who just discovered vocaloid and starts going on a posting frenzy on a thread as if it was a discovery no one had known about before.

Actually I've known about vocaloid since Miku first came out :| I'm only posting that because there are people who don't know what it is. Trust me, I still see a lot of YouTube comments on vocaloid videos where people ask what it is or if it's an anime -_-

Kagamine Rin is my favorite Vocaloid. It'll probably changed to Pico once I hear more of his songs.
