The man was firing off shots to scare off animals, which he had a permit to do. People called in scared, and the RCMP tracked him down. They found him and ordered him to get out. Then the mounty kicked him and arrested him.

I just watch Tales from the Hood. This makes me sad, and so did that movie. :(

He was still allowed to work as an RCMP though. He was only put on admin leave so he's not going to lose his job either.

This is very similar to a case I studied in Law class, Rv Cluett. In that case a man was planning to commit suicide and the officers ordered him to get inside the police car. They grabbed him and he started fighting back so the officers punched him in the face. The man had some sort of spinal problem which ended up causing severe damage to his brain on impact. The man then died in the hospital a few weeks later. Same concept, police brutality.
I'm really curious as to what the rank of the officer's rank is. You usually see most officers overdoing or underdoing their work once they join the RCMP. In this case, the officer was obviously overdoing it.

Well is it really considered police brutality if the suicidal maniac was fighting back and they try to stun him?

The probably is after punching him they kinda did beat him up more. I didn't mention it because I just wanted to outline the case but yes, they did more than a single punch and if they didn't hit him so hard in the face then he would be alive. The whole idea of doing the case was about grasping what the concept of what is okay and what isn't. The officers didn't really know that the man had some problems with his spine but they also weren't careful enough when trying to stun him. Deciding when it is time to do something and to what degree has been a problem with the RCMP for some time now and it has also been a tough subject with this forum staff.
