A 9-year-old boy and federal Judge John Roll and four others were killed. Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head and was in critical condition Saturday afternoon. Eleven others were also wounded in the shooting outside a grocery store.
I cant find a good article as of now, but these are some of the facts.
UPDATE: A total of 18 people have reportedly been shot in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday. 6 have reportedly died, including one 9 year old little girl and Chief Federal Judge John Roll. Dem. Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, along with 5 others, are said to still be in critical condition. The Congresswoman is now out of surgery but is said to still be fighting for her life. The bullet reportedly passed through Rep. Gifford's brain. The gunman is in police custody, reports CNN. His name has not been given in their report but he is said to be around 22 to 23 years old. Other sources have reported the shooter to be Jared Loughner, who had released weird and unstable videos on Youtube

O.O
That's horrible...
But this has just made me realize something about articles like this.
"A 9-year-old boy and federal Judge John Roll and four others were killed."
Journalists only list the people who will cause the most shock factor. That really, really bothers me. At least list them all off. It makes it sound like, "hey! 6 people died but these 2 are the ones who matter the most!"

thats just how it is. if you want unbiased media, I think Al Jazeera is the only one in existence that's the closest to that ideal.

Which is extra fun since American media has us all convinced that Al Jazeera is a TERRIST network or something, contrary to the reality that they're one of the few news organizations left on earth that actually investigate stuff and don't just regurgitate pre-approved press releases.

Ah yes...this is the only topic that's been in Arizona's news lately. I'm surprised the article or news...something that you found didn't mention the old man who threw himself over his wife to save her from the bullets. He died. As I speak the news is still talking about just the shootings. It's all the same information over and over again. It's a tragedy yes, but the news really should stop recycling.
And before someone thinks I'm trying to downplay what happened, I'm not. But as an Arizonian I wish they would leave the victims alone in their grief for at least a moment.

Obama had a televised moment of silence for this. My school also made it mandatory to take part in it today as well.
I didn't like how this only happened because a judge and a kid born on 9/11 died, and a congresswoman was severely injured.

And like, a ton of other people were killed/injured....So...It happened because a lot of people were killed and/or injured?
