Why in the world do people sell things for less than what they can sell it for to the NPC's? Of course, I enjoy the low low prices, but still...

Laziness I'm guessing. They just go with the default market price without checking.

They check market then undercut whoever the previous person was. They're too dumb to just sell to NPC's I guess.

I never understood it either. I guess they read some guide that said "Sell EVERYTHING in the market!", I seem to recall seeing a popular one with that message. That, or they haven't figured out that they can sell items to npcs (I didn't bother to look around, but I don't think there's any clear 'sell' button, is there?).

I sometimes do that. Although I can't speak for others, the reason I do it is because some of these items are useful to other chars (usually lower level ones) (like gnoll leathers, etc.) so I sell in the marketplace, even if for cheaper, so they can save time and not have to grind to find them.
It's usually only for a few dozen gold, or at most, for a hundred or so. Although it's not "optimal" to make money, it's not a huge loss, and I like to think that I helped a "noob" out by doing it.

I don't know why they do it, but I sure do like that they do. 20 minutes normally gets me 100k + There is one item that is always on the market for ~1000 g under value. Or atleast there is one guy that always sells it that way. I buy them out. I made a list of items to check every time I am doing my pricing for the items I am going to sell. Now if they would just get the market value to show current high and low on the sell tab, I would never have to go to the market, and those great buys would still be there.

Although I know it's hard to imagine, is it so hard to believe that some people would actually be willing to sacrifice a handful of gold (money) to help others?
And how are you getting 100k in 20 minutes?? @_@
I'm *maybe* getting 20-30k in 20 minutes, and that's if I focus solely on getting the bonus objectives for money.
Or are you including the money bonus you get for being at the level cap?

Let's deal with your points one at a time.
Yes I know that SOME people will sacrifice a hand full of gd to help out another. I am sure you will find it hard to believe that someone that posted such a hartless responce would give up any item to help out a friend. Seeing how I have given my lago set to 2 other people so they could get credit, I am sure you weren't trying to say I wouldn't help others. BTW everyone in my guild knows how far I go to help others, so I am done explaining that.
Yes I made a little over 100,000 on the market today in about 20 minutes. Like I said, I have a list of items that are often for sale fore less that there true value. Most of the items that that have a ~200 gold profit are found in boat 3 where players have the ability and background to understand the mechanics of the game. There are items on my list from the first 2 boats, and I normally buy 30 - 50 of those items. There profit margin isn't as great, but we can get enough to gain a nice profit. I can't make 100k every 20 minutes, but once a day or there abouts I can. Btw if you keep looking at rediculose priced items ( bunny ears ) you might come across one of those make your month deals. That's where I made my first million.
Oh and no I didn't do that on a 44, I did it on a 23. I could have done it on a 1. Ok 3 or 4. Got to have some gold to start.
My post was just that people don't take the time to see what there items are worth. This game has a currency, so expect people to figure out how to make money. This isn't unique to this game. I used the same thing to get to max cap in WoW and EQ.

Yeah I find this pretty hilarious too.
I npc all items that are above marketplace price. Not sure why such a price exists.
And I buy all items I need that are below marketplace price. Not even worth farming for at that point.

i find it more "LOL" when i see someone selling something like a beginner weapon or armor for like 300k XD
don't know why people expect to sell something at like 300k more than what it's actually worth :what:
