So, after I complete the jailbreak on my friends iPod, I decided to compleatly delete all the crap on it. After I chose the option to do so from settings, and the iPod has frozen up on it's cycle of restarts and will no go to the lockscreen. The firmware is 1.3.1 if that helps.

Try restoring the firmware (and updating it while you're at it) and jailbreak it again?

Put your iPod into recovery/restore mode.

After that, restore it and re-jailbreak. Don't put anything on it until after you jailbreak it.
