So, after a long break from Mabi (playing MapleStory....LOL) I'm back and I decided to go ahead and get r1 Windmill. Now that I'm free to let my CP go as high as it wants- (not going to worry about Animal taming. Don't even)- I need help deciding what to do with all this freedom.

Now my situation is a bit different. For one thing, I have 176 AP that I can spend. Also, I only have a handful of skills above rank F.

Here are my stats. As you can see, my HP and STAM aren't very high. I don't know if I should rank my combat mastery (rank F) or not, as I might regret doing so in the future.

Please don't tell me to: get rank 1 refining, rank carpentry, get arrow revolver, get adv magic, or anything that's a pain in the butt to do. I just need to build on my foundation.

My fighting strategy so far is to do N+WM, then defense, until it dies. I'm considering ranking counterattaack since I never use it but it looks interesting but I'm not sure how powerful it really is. My "pro" friend uses it a lot.

Then there's magic. I kind of like magic, but MP pots are hard to get a hold of. This would be even more difficult once I learn advanced magic...

And Alchemy, which I have never tried before. Don't know if it's worth getting since it doesn't integrate well with any other forms of combat (having to switch to cylinder)

Then ranged attack, which sucks on a human but I love using it. Can't afford to get arrow revolver though.

I just want to get "stronger" so I can do G10 through G12 on advance mode. And since I have around 176 unused AP, my character obviously isn't as strong as it should be, so I'm looking for advice on how to tap into this unused potential. :D

Do you prefer low hp while WM? If not, try ranking smash. At r1, it is really useful, especially combined with r1 critical hit. You can just wait a week or two, and wait for sword mastery and/or down attack.

I think down attack has a different name in NA though.

Which mastery skill would is better? Combat mastery or sword mastery? My CM is at rank F right now so I'll have to choose between one or the other.
And what is leap attack? How much AP should I account to it?

Down attack is a new move that let's you do a follow up attack once you've knocked an enemy down (kind of a jumping smash). If you use Swords then sword mastery will be your friend, but you can rank Combat Mastery as well as the strength you get from that will also be helpful. If you're looking for more strength you'll want to rank Blunt Mastery. I would advise you just plug along and work through the gen's bit by bit. You have a while before they get a lot harder but you might as well work on them piece by piece. G10 is pretty managable and G12 is also pretty easy save for the final. You should get G10 done early so you can start ranking your demi skills. G11 is obviously a huge pain so the sooner you get it done the better.

I would agree with ranking smash, and probably sword mastery since it's cheaper than CM. Beyond that, just take the gen's one piece at a time and you won't go insane.

Imo you won't regret ranking combat mastery in the future, alteast rank it from to around 9 or 5, even if you want a low hp build you can make that up in other areas.

Smash rank 5 then rank 1

Lightning bolt- seems you already started ranking it, get it rank 5 for the faster load time.

Carpentry not rank 1 or anything like that, just from the look of the screen shot you do not even have it, get it for now even rank F - A (stop at F if you want) not much work there and every STR helps.

Counterattack - eh I don't use it, many don't use it, good for some things worth ranking but imo not now. More important things to rank now, rank counter latter even then it might mostly be just for the dex.

And how important is down attack compared to smash / combat mastery?

My plan so far: Get smash to 5, get production mastery to 1, get lightning bolt to 5, and get combat mastery to 7.
This will use up the 177AP I've been saving up.
What do you guys think? I need a pro's opinion before I go ahead and do it. xD

I was in the same situation a long time ago. I'll list what I did for reference, it worked out pretty well for me.

I ranked smash and combat mastery to 1, which one you do first is preference (because there's pros/cons for both -> you can dig up huge debates on this in threads). And then afterwards I ranked critical hit alongside ranged stuff. But in your case with G13 coming out, leap attack or sword mastery would be a better choice.

As for choosing between sword or combat, I'd choose combat because I feel that CM benefits more in the early stages via HP, Damage, Balance. One can argue for Sword > CM and that's fair, other posters can probably come up with very good reasons to rank sword first.

Down Attack a majority of the time is a follow up to smash. In that regard, Smash is more important. Combat Mastery and Sword Mastery are as well. What one first Sword or Combat, that would be a good debate. If it is debatable though that just means its close enough to go with which ever you want imo.

I notice you have rank 2 refine are your Myth fails all done? If so go with Production Mastery, if not hold off on PM until you can get the fails finished at least.

PM is good for the Stam, however there might be better things for now, unless you're planning on ranking more life skills anytime soon. From the look of your opening post that didn't look like the case.

Production to 1 for a stamina pool, then rank combat mastery and afterwards try for smash after you get decent melee damage out of combat mastery and good stamina to Smash with.
