yeah, surprisingly a lot of people I talked to are complaining about this. Mostly because they don't want to level up from mythril fails :~l
although, somebody else was like "ya lol u'd probably only be able to get to lvl 20".
I guess we'll need somebody to test it out and see.

Mythril Fail issue is fixed at G14 S2.
Since when do failed combines give exp? Only successful ones do. Unless you're referring to the exp gained from the successes people typically get when trying to fail.
My response: oh well. Refine is still the easiest lifeskill to train out of the ones people typically do for dex. Getting ot rk2 is super easy even with pretty high dex, and the only hard part in the entire skill is the mythril fails from rank 2 to rank 1... which is only important for 10 dex... i.e. for rangers. That's 4 max damage for ranged attacks. Considering the price/effort difference between the top end-game enchants vs. 1-2 damage lower value equivelants, I think the effort between rank 2 and rank refine, even for someone with high dex, is not all that much.
And even if this does add to the difficulty of this very easy lifeskill, so what. the benefits it gains to everything else far, far outweigh the con. Those training refine to rk1 can just adopt a different mentality. Instead of thinking "omg I have to rank this skill to 1 asap" they can instead just say to themself "cool. myhtril ore fragments are worth exp to me for a very long time. Eventually I'll get 10 dex out of it, but until then yay free exp for something I'm already doing."
