Ok, so recently I've encountered some random lag. It lasts for about 1-3min and then it stops for like 5-10 and starts again. I know its not a virus because I've full system scanned and got nothing. I've defragmented my computer. It's not server lag because I can still do functions, just can't see them. I have a clean client and it happens both when an internet window is open and when there is none. My mtu is set at 1456. The only solution I can think of is trying to re-install the client, but I'd rather not if its not necessary. Can anyone think of some kind of solution to solve this random frame lag, or should I just attempt to re-install client?

Reset your internet? (Un plug then plug back in). That usually helps me.

Mk, I'll try it, hopefully it works.
Ok.. It didn't work. It's still lagging even after resetting my internet. I'm just gonna try re-installing my client.

Try setting your MTU to 386? I don't know if it will help you with your problem, but in generally it's just really useful.

It's not a connection problem though. I have a ping of 11 ms at the time of writing this reply. It's graphical, but the problem is that it only happens during mabi.

Lower your settings? Is your comp over heating?

Where are you lagging? If it's in Avon... well, I have great connection and I still lag pretty bad there.

That might be the case. I'm currently re-installing, afterwards I'll lower the settings and check if it is overheating while its lagging, if it lags again.

It's anywhere. Like right before I started the re-install I lagged both in Rundal dungeon and in a Theater mission.

Try checking if your computer is running a scan of some sort. When I had my crappy laptop I would frame lag when my AVG was scanning.

So far so good. I lowered specs, turned off background checks, updated my computer and dusted it, hopefully one of those things work lol. Thanks to those who tried to help.

Hopefully things will work out for you. The only other thing I can suggest is graphic mods, which I use; I play on a netbook and with them I can manage a constant 25fps, with my crappy integrated card.
And damn, 11ms. Do want.

Everything is fine now lol. Yeah 8gb ram, 1tb hard drive and southern cali fios connection. That's why I was so clueless as to why I was lagging lol.

Yeah, I can imagine Avon being bad. It's like being in Taillteann. When G9 was first released.

Yeah, Avon isn't too bad really with a clean client. A lot more laggy without visual mods though. lol xD
