Microsoft's official, over-priced USB drives for the Xbox 360 are on their way to retailers as you read this. So what do you get for your money?

You get...a Sandisk-branded USB thumb drive! And not just any USB thumb drive, one that's black, with a giant XBOX 360 logo on it. As we know, they'll come in two flavours, 8GB and 16GB, priced at $35 and $70 respectively.

What do you think, is that kind of premium worth it for a logo and a matching (provided you've got an Elite) colour scheme?

Xbox HD: 5 minutes, 25 seconds
Sandisk flashdrive: 16 minutes, 10 seconds
Sandisk Cruzer: 21 minutes, 58 seconds
PNY 16: 8 minutes, 38 seconds
PNY 4 Mini: Not compatible
External Seagate HD: 5 minutes, 25 seconds
Lacie 2T external HD: 5 minutes, 29 seconds

obviously the xbox drives are optimized for xbox games

Well 35$ ain't bad for a 8GB flashdrive. Oh I have a 8GB Sandisk flashdrive, and It didn't take as long as 16min for any of my games... Don't know about Borderlands though.

Borderlands is 6.41 GB without DLC updates

this a flash drive made for primary xbox use
so like you can install xbox games faster.
however the price is like 2-3x of a normal USB drive with that much memory

Really? I bought my 8GB for about the same amount. I have yet to see one that is around 10-15$ for a 8GB around here.
