So has anyone actually ranked this skill yet? I haven't trained it yet, so it sits at RN, which is all I need for being able to walk and play my flute at the same time. But from what I have seen, it appears that when you play a song with it, the song doesn't fail, with the exception of the flute trying to play notes outside of its range. Now is this just me and getting extremely lucky with my playing (note, my Giantess is only R8 Playing Instrument, but she's playing better than my Human that has R3 Playing Instrument), or does Enthralling Performance ignore fails/success when it comes to playing instruments, but at the cost of not training the Playing Instrument skill? If it does ignore the success rate for playing, then this skill can come in handy for any future music contests, as well as remove the need for tuners at the beginning of songs. Sure, you can't have any nice ensembles, but isn't being able to play a song perfectly every time worth it?
Also, does anyone else think that it's really not worth training this skill to R1 aside from people that crave ever single stat point they can get their hands on? I mean, at R1, you can walk around for 40 seconds, which is great, but since you use 6.67 SP per second to use the skill at R1, that means in order to play that full 40 seconds, you would need to have a whole 267SP, which isn't exactly easy to get, since just getting the non-race exclusive skills that boost SP only leaves you with 20SP left over, meaning that if you do use this in battle, you won't have a lot of room for errors. Even if you only get it to R5, so that you're getting 40 seconds of use for 240SP, you're still using a lot.
So do you guys think that it's worth ranking this skill up past RN for anything other than getting stat points? Or is it just a novelty skill in your eyes?

Only if your a bard type like me. It's completely a support move or a very very tatic move. Your party could stay back a charge adv magic from a safe distance, then you can bring the enemies there. I'm not sure about sucess rates, but just beware the never ending song. Night nite.

I suggest you don't rank it if your stam is low...
My guild co-leader has rank 3 and it eats 300 stam...
Oh, what is you do is lure a hoarde of monsters, walk to dunbarton square and play dead :)

I'm able to rank it, it's just that I don't have enough AP to.

An Army of Heavy Gargs following you around... sort of creepy...
It doesn't fail but it eats stamina up like candy. Won't work if the monster is in an aggro state, so the bard has to play it immediately. You can also stand by a dungeon door to lure monsters to it. However, you need to be semi close for monsters to follow you.

Well, I'm not really asking what to do with it, but I'm asking from performer's aspect, is it worth it to train the skill at all, or just leave it at RN if all I want to do is walk around while playing the flute. If I wanted to know how to use it, it would be in the Questions and Help section instead of Mabinogi Talk. I appreciate the input on how functional it is in battle, especially since it is a fairly good luring technique, minus the insane SP costs. But like I said, is it worth the 150AP to be able to use it for 40 seconds if I just want to be able to actually move while I play my music?
As for the luring to Dunbarton, does that work with wings? Assuming R1, can I buy a Wing of the Goddess, lure a few Peaca monsters and use a wing, followed by playing dead and watch campers trying to kill the ghosts, or do I have to actually drag the monsters to town, meaning the most I can get is a few bears or even some Kobold Bandits.

It's only functional if you want to do a support role. I mean, if your play is high enough and the enemy's cp is low enough, during a multi aggro state, you can keep enemies busy enough so that your allies have time to finish them. It's very useful. If you use windmill, heck, sometimes magic bolts won't cause monsters to "break" apart from you, while normal melee does break the enemy's hypnotism. It's also a good way to also help newbies by keeping monsters busy for them.
It's stamina draining but stamina is easily replenish. I wouldn't recommend spamming it, but for being a support skill, it's pretty bad arse. I might try to see if enthralling performance can be played while controlling a golem. ;)

From a performer's perspective, it's actually pretty useless, since you're only limited to 30 seconds of actual music (in the first few ranks) and then the skill automatically ends regardless of how long the actual song is. I guess its only use as a performer is to walk with an instrument, but even then you're only limited to wind instruments (which in turn are limited in octave range) in the first few ranks which, well, has its limits. :| So it's not too useful even at Novice rank, either.

Isn't that considered cheating?
o-o
Sounds like it would....

You can't really play a long song with it. It's more of a preview.

The CP limit is high enough that a complete shutdown of 7(?) enemies for almost a full minute seems worthwhile.

An elf friend who ranked it to rA lured red grizzly cubs into Dunby and killed afk people with it.
Idk, I personally find that enough reason to rank it.

Too bad you couldn't lure something like the Master Lich over to dunb.

It's useful in party play.
rN is useless, as you can only lure rats at that rank. Starting at rF, you can lure enemies with up to 1700 CP and this increases up to 4700 at r1. Essentially, anything less than a Hallow Knight cannot resist Enthralling Performance. The success rate appears to be exclusively dependant on your skill rank and the combat power of your opponent.
It pretty much allows you grab all of the enemies in a room and set them up to be one-shot by another party member. You could also lure a group of enemies behind barrier spikes or into an ice mine, allowing you to follow up with an attack. As far as the stamina consumption is concerned, just because you can control a group of mobs for 40 seconds doesn't mean that you should. I've never used it for more than 10 seconds.
Outside of combat, the skill can be situationally useful. It makes spider farms easy to create, for example.
Edit(1): It also makes the "who Seduced a Succubus" title extremely easy to obtain and totally shames G8's taming sequences. This skill completely replaces Animal Taming, which most of you wasted AP on.
