As some of you already know, my old giant, Krishna, is now my main.
My questions xD
1. Stomp or Windmill?
Which is more important, and which one should I rank first?
2. Weapons
Hobnail Knuckles
Dual Iron Maces
Vales Sword + Shield
Battle Hammer
(Choose 1 or 2)
Thanks. :]

1. Windmill ^^ Get r1 first
2. You should try Dual Stiff Fierce. Strongest Weapons should be Titanic Crocodile Broadaxe and dual Goddess Spike Warhammers but I doubt you have enough money or dex to get the balance up :p. Well I'd only use Shield if I had an Protection set for Windguard

Like (s)he said, wm rank one first, and dual stiff fierce maces are easy to get, and rather powerful for beginners.

But, erm, how do I get it...?

1. Windmill is far more damaging than Stomp, though the latter adds virtually no cp and is best ranked with low cp as well. In future updates Stomp gets much more useful but it doesn't replace windmill.
2. Once you get windmill to 9 or so you should have enough strength to effectively wield knuckles assuming rF everything else. If you're a wm spammer you should stick to dual s/f maces or iron maces. If you prefer smash you may want to look into Battle Hammers. Knuckles are the best at N damage and have several unique combos while Morning Stars are somewhere in between s/f maces and Knuckles with high N damage and decent smash/wm. Great Mallets are great for splash and Warrior Axes boast a 4-hit N combo with a large wm range and the 2H smash bonus. The Vale's sword is very similar to a claymore but costs 1/3 the price. In general, giant only weapons have more crit.
Out of that list I use a Battle Hammer and Vale's Sword + Shield which complements my playstyle. I've gotten very good at using splash damage on smash (impossible before r5-r1) and the high crit rate gives a satisfying number of crit splash smashes. I can also make use of my Full Swing in trans to ohko even the more difficult encounters. The shield allows me to shrug off enemy attacks if I face multiaggro. It usually takes longer than windmill but I lose far less hp in the process since I run with a high base. This allows me to just stock up on stamina pots and let my dog take care of healing if necessary.
Depending on how you fight you may need different weapons. Each one on your list is devastating in the right hands and especially in the right environment. I can give you more specific advice if you give me more info on what you'll be facing.
edit: If you're training in Par, rank stomp and use your fists. Great Mallet if necessary since it's so cheap to repair but stomp really works wonders in that place especially with decent crit rank. Don't worry about weaponry until you've got bigger fish to fry.

1. Windmill first.
2. Dual wield. Stiff Maces come off Ciar Intermediate. You could probably buy two of these from other players.
Fierce also comes off Ciar Intermediate, on maces. I'd burn fierce off since it's Rank B suffix enchant and then place them on the Stiff maces. Stiff is too troublesome to enchant.

Okay. But atm, I'm ... poor.

My playing style - 1. Smash + Counter + Def 'Oh shoot mob!' + Stomp/WM + 'Oh no they're using counter!!' any kind of bolt.
Suggestions xD?
or - Attack+Attack+Attack (When I'm really lazy)

No worries. You can use non-enchanted weapons, it's alright to do so.

Non-enchanted weapons still hit pretty high while your on a giant so dont worry if your poor at the moment.

At the moment it doesn't seem like you're really in need of heavy weaponry. A Great Mallet would give you excellent balance, splash, wm range and the ability to use Full Swing without costing much of anything to repair. The price is really the deciding factor, at no point should you be spending most of your income on repairs.

Oh. Well I think it's better to get the ... battle hammer then? xP
Also - Money I think, isn't that much of a problem. I usually like to 'build up' everything, starting from scratch (base weapon)
So ... Battle Hammer vs Dual Wield? o.o
EDIT - lack of balance. o.o
So Imma start with the Great Mallet.
How much dex should I get to make a Battle Hammer useful?
-
Juno wrote on 2010-05-08 02:09
You can get +20% balance on the first two upgrades and still have it do what it does better than any other weapon. Assuming a few ranks in CM you still need ~140 dex to hit the cap.
That's not too tough to get but a Great Mallet isn't a bad weapon...it just doesn't have as much crit/damage.
Oh, and my IGN is Sviel, since you're on Ruairi. I can help you out in-game if you want me to.

Raj wrote on 2010-05-08 03:12
140 Dex is a lot o.o :T_T:
What skills can get me there? :what:
I'm sticking to Great Mallet + Hobnail Knuckles for now.

Generally you want to tackle refining first. As a giant you have low dex so it's not -as- urgent but it's also harder to find -dex gear since you can't wear...anything.

Raj wrote on 2010-05-08 17:05
-dex? Who needs that?
