So I made this sig without brushes.

This is an archive of the mabination.com forums which were active from 2010 to 2018. You can not register, post or otherwise interact with the site other than browsing the content for historical purposes. Image and video embeds are disabled on purpose and represented textually since most of those links are dead.

Well I got bored and thought that I may as well make a sig. I didn't download any brushes to use, so I just went without them since I already had fonts, stock images, and a few effects I could use. I figure I'll start using it when Shana Season 3 starts.

Whoops. Couldn't choose between Festivities or Festival, but I meant to spell it as Festival. Meh, I could edit it to show correctly.

The only thing that bothers me is that the lights and the sign don't fit together. The lights are blurry while the words are in focus, and also kind of out in the corner so the proportioning is awkward.

Overall, it's a really good sig o3o. You should make sigs without brushes more often, although a big soft white brush on overlay/soft light can help with lighting direction.

Not black, definitely.

I would move the ... building? More to the right, rule of thirds and all, and then make the text.. I dunno, something close to arial. Readable, and possible to have on a banner thing. Think anime. Er, dubbed. Nothing too cursive or times new roman type.

It shouldn't be too solid of a colour. What I like to do is duplicate it, and then lower the opacity/transparency on the bottom layer, then change the layer settings on the top layer. Overlay, soft light, hue, etc. It looks nice if you do it right.

If I brought the picture down more, it would start showing Index Characters and everyone would be thinking, "Wth does Shana have to do with that scene?" I guess if I had another image set during a Festival, it could have been fine, but that's all I have on my hard drive as of now.

An alternative is to move the girl down/left and crop the sig.
