They met in the army. It went sort of like this:
Mom: *Looking over mechanic forms* *Reads for eyes: blue/green* What? Who the hell put blue slash green? Haven't you ever heard of Hazel? Who is this, who's *looks at form* Mac?!
Dad: Oh. That's me.
Mom: Well why did you put blue slash green? *Looks at him for the first time* *Looks at left eye. Blue.* *Looks at right eye. Green.*
Dad: Well, I have one blue eye, and one--
Mom: Just fix the jeep.

both my parents worked at dairy queen, only dairy queens in different towns. my dad ended up transferring to the one my mom worked at and didn't pay much attention to my dad right away, but he began flirting with her by throwing pickles and tomatoes at her -___-
they dated soon after and about a year later i popped out o_o
that was like 21 years ago, they're still together too

Through friends, met each other. But I don't think it was love at first sight for my mum from the way she said about it.
She was more worried about whether our grandparents would accept him, but the worry was eventually cleared and they sort of dated.
Seems that my Dad was interested in her and then chased her and they ended up together.

So, this is what happened....
My mom had just divorced her first husband. She wen to a bar and got a little drunk, she was about 25, and my dad was there as a designated driver, he was 26. She was crying when she left because her other husband was there. My dad came after her and offered to drive her home. He did and went home himself. A week later, he came to my Grandma's, my mom was living there, and had cut all his hair and shaved. He asked her on a date.....
(I don't know how old they were, to be honest...) And so they married in 1984. A year later, my older sister was born. I was born 7 years later and then 2 years later my younger sis was born...
Still together at the golden ages of 50 and 51 :D.....

so, let me think, my parents met a while after my mom was out of college. she had gone to college here [she's from vermont] and was living/working in waltham after that with a bunch of roommates.
my dad had always lived in newton [auburndale <33] and obviously, knew waltham and knew people from there. apparently both of my parents had some mutual friends, and they all got together one night and had drinks, and that's when they met. and idk, they clicked. they met in '90 and got married in '93
SUCH A SMALL WORLD DAMNIT
