Why is this thing so popular?
Its actually a 2h blunt which means it can only be prof'd with melee, requires you to use the same element bolt about 15 times before you can use adv magic, and you're better off using Ice spear then hailstorm.
Its so overrated :T_T:

It's not even a blunt.. if it was a blunt, I would have learned Blunt Mastery by equiping it.
But yea.. it's really great that it's a melee weapon. Melee weapon don't lose durability when you use magic with it. No more repairs needed other than proofing repairs.

People like it cause 1 its new and 2 you lose 0 mp when taking it off.
Atleast thats my guess. To me its just another pixelized stick. :v

It's the only weapon you can use to cast Hailstorm...
Then there's the holding animation, so that's probably why it's so hot =/

Because I stand like a bamf, because when I smash, I kick things in the face, because when I WM a 10-year-old, it's like their head is a baseball...
I just like the (female) pose and animations for it, really. So fun~

To me the new poses make you look frozen. :v

More so for the males. I've noticed a lot of guys don't like the male stance. It does look a bit stiff. However, in comparison to our usual standing pose, I think the dynamic is a nice change, at least for the girls.

Another cool feature is the ability to use any type of advanced magic without having to switch wands constantly. Though the long build up time for getting access to those skills does make it seem kinda inefficient. Really the only time I'd see anyone doing this is if they're trying to train multiple advanced magic spells at once on foxes (or hobs/mimic/whatever mob you grind) and they don't want to keep switching wands for all the different spells. Someone else also mentioned that you don't lose any dura when casting magic so that might also be another incentive (will have to test this later).
The downside is that since it's a 2-handed staff and not a wand, you can't equip a shield with it, so you do lose some defense and since it's not a wand, you can't use blaze. Still not sure if blizzard is stronger than blaze, but that could be a major hitch for solo mages that use the ice spear>blaze combo a lot.

Seems like a more permanent version of wands, since it doesn't lose dur for casting bolts. I can understand that casting the bolts just to use int magic may seem annoying, but you could always equip your melee weapon, use it, then switch back to the staff and cast some magic, then switch back since you won't lose any mana. I'm not sure if Hailstorm is worse than IS, considering r5 Hailstorm does 5k crits and all. Maybe for Elfs IS is better, since it uses so much less mana. Although it doesn't have the faster fireball, faster and less mana costing Thunder, or being able to use blaze, it seems to be more for power than anything else, along with being a bit versatile. With the best Artisan upgrade, the Staff can increase magic damage by 16%. As far as Blaze goes, I'm not sure if that should be a real factor, since r1 is now as powerful as r5.

I wonder... can Trinity Staff be enchanted with Cypress?
Google translate gets the following from the JP wiki page:
Possible ES: to be enchanted weapons (note: not Cyprus), a two-handed weapon can be enchanted, enchanted staff can
It seems to indicate that Cypress isn't possible, but might it just be a google translate fail?

My brother uses it and likes it because you don't lose mana if you switch from it, the no dura loss for casting spells, and he can use any of the inter/adv(whatever you call them) magics. He likes to play an Icebolt mage most so the build up to Ice Spear is really just a bonus for him anyways. I always thought the stance was pretty cool myself.

Yeah you lose no duras for casting Hailstorm with it as well.
Plus, Ice spear is better for weaker waves while Hailstorm is better for a 1 vs 1 battle.
But Hailstorm.. can does better damages than most of the magic spells mana-wise.

I like it because it's still a decent melee weapon than a wand, and the animations are kick-ass. No MP loss when switching is a nice bonus too, lets you hybridize pure magic with melee more.
