Now, it's my understanding that I'm not the only one having issues with this quest. According to my fellow guildies and my good friends it wasn't a walk in the park. However, I'm strongly inclined to believe that I am one of the few (if not then the only one) who has been stuck on this quest since G11 was first released.
Any and all suggestions will help. I've gathered that windmilling is rather useless in this and that it's best to have a transformation handy.
I think my biggest problem is the number of foods that I kill. I always either kill too many or too few...truly it's really embarrassing but asking for even more advice than what I've already gotten is all I can do seeing as it's a solo mission...

Keep an eye on the timer. The exact amount of foods you knock in matters less than hitting the fork to exit at -about- the right time.
Pets are helpful if you've got 'em, especially when things aggro you.
HP potions are helpful. I dunno, I used windmill, but if you're magic/ranged/alchemy-based, that would also work, although something like golems probably would be difficult to manage.

Assuming you're on hard mode:
1. Go in with double trans
2. Get away from the first mob and let Glewyas hit them for 3~4 hits, then go in and smash and kill the ones that were hit
3. A silverware should spawn, kill it and equip the cooking knife with a shield. Now you don't have to depend on Glewyas, you can also stop the foods from loading bolts with the huge splash range
4. Kill around 7 or 8 flour and fruits and 5 eggs, then just stop and wait at the fork (in case Glewyas and the silverware put you over the limit)
5. This is the most important part, hit the fork as soon as possible after the "time passed" hits 7:00
As for the rats... if you're really have trouble throwing them out, you could try firebolt spamming them out then smashmill.

Meh, I transformed when Gleywas died, and took his hax cooking tools. And just started hitting the first ingredient in my face. A high critical rank helps.

I'm mostly melee oriented, so what few long ranged attacks I do have are very lowly ranked. Currently I'm in Advanced, but I'm going to just guess or at least try to go for the number of ingredients and time that has been suggested...
Glewyas either dies early or gets stuck fighting just one food item 7/10 times that I do this mission ._.

I always went and actively targeted whatever Glewyas was smacking. Don't wait for the silverware to spawn, go after what Glewyas is going after.
