I've been playing mabinogi since after beta and I've only gotten so far and I am ashamed at my level.
I get bagged on for being a nub and having nub equips and no upgrades, enchants, ego and being poor.
I am currently using ranged skills and have rank 5 crash shot with 125 ap and rb cards ready to go and with the low dex of 270(300 thanks to 1 item and title).
Even with r1 crash I won't be able to do much and with my inability to do life skills it feels like theres not much i can do and have regrets of play style i've chosen.
I choose to stay alone due to not wanting to burden other with my nubness(dying alot etc)
Anyway wondering what should I do?
looking for opinions to make game better or should I give up and quit.

Take the game slowly. It's not really a game when you don't find it as satisfying as you could have be. Maybe party with randomers doing theater missions on channel 1 (or a popular channel)? Agreed that some people can be jerks but not everyone is bad out there. D:
I think that partying with friends is the only thing driving me to play mabinogi. Otherwise it's dead boring. >.< I hope you do find some good people to hang around with however. Not everyone has to do life skills to enjoy range. :P

Should do Refine first if a range buid.
ALWAYS. Perhaps get a -Dex set and use production failure pots..Even if it seems impossible. R1 Crash neccessarily shouldn't be your main skill you don't have a good stamina and MP pool to use it from.

yea those are r1, they are what make up my dex.(with refine to answer other response).
But thing is I don't enjoy mabinogi and only wanted to be good at a mmo type game and was pointed to this game.
I don't hate it and only play out of habit.
So should I give up on it?
Other games to play instead would be nice mention.

dying a lot doesn't mean you are noob,i die all the time, and 270 dex is a lot!
i would suggest you try to play with other people, maybe join a guild (everyone is welcome in mahou!)
mabi is one of the harder mmos out there, if you really don't like this game, trying something else wouldn't be bad

You will get better a lot faster if you party with people and learn from them, good or bad. It also make things faster and less pressuring than solo since you have people to resurrect you if you make mistakes.
Mabi is really dull when you're by yourself all the time, you shouldn't stay away from partying just because you see yourself as a burden for others. Everyone has to start off somewhere, just think of ways to improve as you go. If you don't feel like range is something you like or do well in, give melee and magic a try or reroll as an elf.
Also you might want to at least get the upgrades on weapons, they do make a pretty big difference.

Haha, the thing is he's accumulated too much CP, so training WM will be a pain. It's possible, but I really don't think it's gonna help him to staying with Mabinogi. I have rank 1 WM, I don't WM naked. That's silly and weird when you see flinging bare legs to me.
Dying is normal in Mabinogi, sadly, it's also normal with Archers since they live by a cruddy percent system where if they miss, they have very little time to react and do something to save themselves. I really suggest partying more, playing alone feels like a grind to me, and it doesn't when I'm with a friend or some random people. To avoid dying, I suggest ranking Mana Shield or Combat Mastery to get your HP up. Try to keep your HP at 50% or higher to withstand critical hits that would usually OHKO you.
Have you ever considered other play-styles? Try Alchemy, especially Barrier Spikes since it syncs well with your Archery skills.

But thing is people don't wanna carry nub around and if it was shadow mission I would get killed with dragon and left or just left dead from dying from monster or they leave party to find better player.
Even though playing game with others make it easier ,being alone no one can judge ones nubness and i can just try not to die even if I know I most likely will.
Made elf along time ago had dan 1 wm ,r1 refine , and r1 ranged but being elf wasn't ideal since AR is more reliable to me so I gave up.
Guess I might try combat and getting upgrades hasn't been possible for me since i barely have enough to repair stuff

Join one of the guilds that are just starting up, make some friends that don't judge you for the mistakes you make and don't take it personally when they point them out. I know it's easier said than done, since it took me quite a while just to decide on opening up and join a guild when I first started.
The horn thing I don't know, but I've come across quite a few players that don't carry feathers, maybe you were just unlucky. Every time you die, think about what you did wrong and what you can do to prevent it from happening again instead of giving up. Partying is nice for this since you can just watch what other people are doing, learning from their techniques and mistakes. If you try out melee, you'd want rank 1 smash and combat mastery. Use pets, bolts, windmill and monsters' AI to get in more smashes. You'll find a lot of things easier once you have the power to kill them fast.
Since you have r1 windmill, Their Method at Tara is pretty good for exp and gold, you can also get some weapon prof while grinding. You also don't have to worry about dying there as long as you don't get too close to the zombies, just windmill spam away. Once you've gotten enough damage, you can move onto Shadow Cast City and work on your game play.
