So I'm making a documentary like the ones in Micheal Moore's movies (He's really popular over here, I think I watched almost all of his movies during my time here in highschool). It means that I'm going to have to voice over some video clips, but I still want to keep the sound in those clips (Like keep it lower while I talk and normal when I'm not talking). Can someone give me a list of programs I would need. Even if you have to pay for them, they might have a discount in the pirate bay. So I may need recommendations for programs to:
-Recording videos on youtube (Of course, not all the videos I'm going to use are from youtube)
-Edit video clips
-A program to put my voice over those video clips (I might may need to get a new mic)
-A good quality, but inexpensive mic.
-Something to edit sound in general (Since I don't know if I need to make bits of a video clip sound low so I can talk or something and I need to censor swear words)!
Any other recommendations would be nice.

1) What do you mean recording videos on Youtube? If you mean you want to download them, Any Video Converter has a Youtube download option.
2)I don't really know what you need for your clip editing. If it is just cutting clips and some light effects, Windows Movie Maker would work just fine.
3)You can just do that with Windows Movie Maker.
4) Logitech ClearChat Style PC Headset is what I use. But a professional and pretty cheap mic is the Blue Snowball Microphone.
5) Movie Maker could probably get the job done here too.

Sony Vegas is a good video editting program. But you'll have to pay for the full version, but you can always use trial.
