So far it seems punching seems faster.(maybe that's because I'm on the warrior destiny)
Flame burst on zombies.

Are giants with knuckles considered "Bad"? or are they just simply not as great as maces?

Should I rank Life Drain to restore my hp? My avg hp is usually at ~300
If yes, what rank should I get it to?
My char's pure melee btw
My Character has around 380 HP, and I use LD a lot.
Mine's at r5, and it saves me a lot of HP potions. If you're going to use LD and aren't planning to be an alchemist, get r5 for the Faster Draining and Skill Loading. r1 takes too much AP for my liking.
As for Crystals, have a good alchemy friend duplicate it for you. Do note that the Success may be low, but all you need is 1 Arat Crystal, 1 LD Crystal, and 1 HW for 10 LD crystals.

Get it; it's arguably the fastest way to prof a cylinder.

Is Fragmentation worth it?
You see, i'm an avid weaver. [I live, breathe, and sleep Weaving. I enjoy shearing sheep. There is no greater joy in Mabinogi than spinning cobwebs.]
My rank is somewhat low, so i'm thinking about saving my threads for later ranks for making silk and whatnot.
Buuut...what if I were to use Fragmentation to get some of the materials back? This would be especially useful for strap making, as I would get all of the materials back if I was successful.
However, most of the items have a low success rate...and most of them are capped at ~50%. I just don't know if, in the end, it would be worth sacrificing the mats, mostly, as well as the AP invested in the skill.
Thanks!

Fragmentation is definitely worth it for reclaiming your materials. I would advise ranking it and transmutation. Transmutation increases your success rate by 1% each rank, and if you rank Alchemy mastery it goes up 1% for each of those ranks. It's useful for reclaiming your materials so yeah if you really want, it's worth investing in. Fragmentation and Transmutation are both very cheap skills.

ah, indeed, you are right.
I checked the Wiki, for Alchemy Mastery it says at later ranks [2-1] it increases Fragmentation success by 7. Does that stack [as in, 7% per each rank], or 7% altogether?
Oh, this is dreadful. Now I want to rank Alchemy skills.

Focus on Alchemy Mastery and Transmutation. Fragmentation is a useful skill but it's not worth the AP investment unless you're running out of skills to rank, in my opinion. Hell, ranking the skill actually decreases your success rate for some items.

Oh, jesus, you're right.
I mean, that only applies to cheap silk, but...I make a lot of those.
Either way, Alchemy.
So here's the deal: I'm level 9x, I have r9 prod mastery, r8 WM, and r9 crit. Those are my notable skills.
Would it be worthwhile to de-rank WM and a few ranks of Crit [maybe de-rank prod to rB, because rA and r9 sucked up a bit of AP], and put that AP into skills such as, say, Alchemy Mastery, Transmutation, and Fragmentation? I'm not interested in Offensive Alchemy at all, but rather the 'technical' part [including Crystallization] of the skillset.
Then, once i've established a decent AM rank and a few other skills, I could start re-ranking WM. I honestly don't do much dungeoning these days, I level up via life skills [tailoring and whatnot].
This is becoming slightly more complicated than a 'small question' :\

All I know is:
Rank crit whenever you can, so you dont "waste" those crits
Saves you trouble of wasting time hitting barrier spikes, or let mimics beat you up.
Unless you are going for master title
And for me, You said you arent going to do offensive alchemy? So focus on your combat skills. Assuming you are going Melee.Work on ranking WM, and rank Critical hit whenever its available.
Prdouction mastery for the stam boost :)
Level up via life skills? What level do you rebirth at?

I've been abusin' the beginner service. Two weeks until my first 'real' rb, so we'll see. I'm hoping for 4x/15+.
Also, I think i'll keep WM, derank crit a few ranks, and derank prod mastery to one rank below crit, because that skill adds CP like you wouldn't believe. Then, i'll invest a little AP into some Alchemy and see what's what.
Question: For AM reqs, what crystals can I create that don't involve Int. Magic? Or, in general, how do people rank up the skill without combat?

Make barrier spikes, golem, life drain, blizzard, shock, and rain crystals

As the skill stands right now, grinding out Blizzard Crystals (frozen blast) is the best way to grind crystal making without requiring casts. If you wait until G14 S2 or 3 then Alchemy Mastery is being redesigned and you'll get credit for attacking at the lower ranks.

So far, i've been making Barrier Spikes crystals...although, making Blizzard crystals seems useful. I kinda like Barrier Spikes because i've been ranking up the skill as well, and i'm not really interested in 'offensive alchemy'.
It looks like Barrier Spikes may be the best way for me to go?

How do ideals work? I'm guessing it's kind of like:
<character's name> fits an NPC's ideal -> Talk to NPC and enter the name -> Rinse and repeat?
The main question being can you choose a certain NPC yourself or are you given three random ones per town?
