Anyway, after I managed to get myself one of those staffs from the event,I went ahead and decided to put it to the test in some Adv Theater missions....
Unfortunately,I found myself staring at words mentioning 'Your staff's Lightning stat isn't high enough to cast Thunder' or whatever....before being smacked by a Snow Troll.
Also,out of TH,IS,and FB I only really use Thunder...so I was wondering...
Even though the Staff has the trait where you don't lose MP when you switch it out, which would you people say is more 'efficient' in Adv/HM...? The more 'basic' wands or the Trinity staff? Because I'm almost considering selling it....
....almost. :XD:

Obviously if you only use one type of adv magic then the staff is not for you. The staff is for verse mages that use hailstorm and 2 or 3 types of adv magic

Well there are various upgrades you can get for it. With little effort you can probably get 21% magic attack easyy~~
It enables me to do 200+ damage with my lightning bolt and my staff is only 10% attack currently~~

The Trinity is called what it is for a reason. It's for using all types of magic without having to switch between wands. Of course, at a cost.
If you're an elemental specialist other than ice or Int Magic spammer then there's absolutely no point in using a Trinity except for looks. I have no interest in it even after using one because I'm a fire specialist. The required firebolt spam before being able to fireball and that limited window of time to cast that fireball is pretty terrible. Especially since you can't get speedcasting upgrades on it.
It all depends on your playstyle. For pure mages, it's pretty nice to have. For lightning and fire specialists, the wands are better.

If all you do is spam basic bolts, the trinity staff is a viable option. It will boost your damage, and like melee/range/cylinders you won't use dura. The drawback is you won't get the mana reduction of an upgraded wand, or the extended range (+200 range to same element bolt spells for elemental wands). You also won't be able to fuse magic with it.
If you specialize in using a particular intermediate magic, then a wand is going to be better for you. crown ice wand boosts damage more than trinity staff does for ice spear, while phoenix fire wand is probably the only viable way to use fireball. Crystal lightning wand or lightning wand are valuable for their differeny upgrades to modify thunder in specific ways.
If you plan to use hailstorm, then you need a trinity staff. plain and simple. the element charging effects and intermediate magic use is mostly a gimick.

I spam bolts so yeah.
I have many many wands I interchange with though. I use whatever suits the situation. I don't see why I wouldn't use the damage upgrading Trinity Staff that doesn't use durability when I spam spells. I do understand you're point though. The inter magic is just a gimick. But might come in handy for ice spear since it has quicker charge. I don't see myself using it for any other spells.

Wands boost your damage and range, and offer upgrades like reduced mp cost or chaincasting. Wands offer the option to fuse magic. Those are viable reasons to not use a trinity staff. The no dura + good damage boost of trinity staff is a good reason to use it. They're different preferences is all I'm saying, it is not a case of one or the other being clearly better.

Nah man I understand. I see your point. But if you're gonna mage, you should have different wands of many types. I have a speed casting lightning wand, MP reduction ice wand, CC+4 fire wand and some others. Instead of using my wand's dura, I use staff~~ >:D

The trinity staff does alot more damage. My fireball does 4.7k non crit non trans on 0 prot mobs vs 4.2 Non crit with S3 +36% speed Phonix wand.
What you miss is the speed of casting from Phoenix and crystal wands and its close to the same as non S upgraded crown wand for icespear damage so thats kinda null. Charging the staff isnt too bad. Not losing mana to change to another skillset is major win.
I do have:
3R 18 dura lizard Wizard Crystal wand
3S 8 Dura Lizard Wizard Phoenix wand
working on making a 18 dura Lizard Sweet 3S crown wand
BUT the trinity has Lizard Deadly since you want to have crit for hailstorm. Losing some mana for crit.

The staff is terrible for non-Hailstorm IMO.
It takes too long to 'charge' the staff to be able to use intermediate magic. After you finally charge it, it's weaker than upgraded IS, costs more mana than upgraded TH, and slower than upgraded FB.
The ability to switch weapons and not lose mana isn't helpful. You lose your 'charge' when doing that, so you won't be able to use intermediate magic again until you shoot like 15 more bolts. You can't use a shield with it, so if you get attacked while loading the slower magic, you'll take way more damage. You can't blaze with it, and you walk with meditation.
The staff is useful only for Hailstorm, regardless of how diverse your magic arsenal is. If you're in some odd situation where one intermediate magic isn't enough, then it's better to just bite the bullet and switch wands. It's not like you can't use all your mana first before switching wands anyways. Also, preservation stones.
