  In Everquest when I quit playing around the release of Secrets of Faydwer I had some friends that still played after I left. Lets just say that the very next expansion put Druids up on hit points and armor on par with Warriors that were top-end when I left. Druids are a healer/support/spellcaster class that is supposed to be "squishy" and warriors are the best class for tanking. One expansion and a squishy class can now tank everything in the game as well as top end warriors used to be able to, except for the newest content which is geared towards needing the now even better warriors to tank it.

  I would say this is an accurate observation.
  Honestly, I think even getting through your first rebirth is a huge milestone in itself. I finally reached total level 50 and I was like, "Holy crap...it took me WAY TOO LONG to get here."
  
  @Shirayuki; It's true that a new update comes and screws you over, but personally the idea that I always have something to work for and look forward to is interesting to me. But each to his own, definitely.
